What are the top cutter slicer folders

Any knife I've sharpened cuts and slices. As to how long depends on other factors.

Take a very thick bladed and edged folder and you can sharpen it until it can float hair off your arm and it still won't match the cutting ability of an Opinel.

Dang! After all the money i've spent recently on knives and I find I've been outcut by an opinel.

Seriously, I really want one! :) I keep reading lots of good things about it.

Can anyone recommend a good dealer? Thanks.

Cliff, Opinels seem to be very popular here. I need to get one of them. My point may have been a little dull. If I sharpen it, it will cut what I need cut. I cut stew meat with a machete once just to show myself it coulld be done. That was after cutting myself while sharpenig the darn thing.

I've had excellent experience with the calypso jr, which I just picked up, and its smaller counterpart, the dragonfly.

Although I've never owned an opinel personally, I've used them, and have had excellent experiences with slicing. They're made for it.

Out of left field- Dexter Russel's high carbon boning knives. fixed blades, but inexpensive, high carbon slicers

The Calypso is certainly a great slicer, mine has become my during-the-week EDC. I suspect my new BM mini Grip will be good too but I haven't had it long enough to know. The only thing it's cut so far is some envelopes, some baling twine and sharpened a pencil.

I'm really impressed with the cut/slice power of my recently acquired Mayo Buck 172. Plus it is beautiful; 'course beauty's in the eye of the knifeholder ;)

Like Garageboy said,
The Spyderco Centofante III.

It's like a one-hand, VG-10, Opinel No.8.

Good luck,
Allen.

Victorinox paring knives

Victorinox SAKs

Spyderco Calypso Jr.

Opinel No. 8

Kershaw Double Duty

Spyderco Temperance

Spyderco Catcherman

Spyderco Stretch

…in about that order.

I have an old school, ATS34, plain edge Spyderco Military that slices better than any knife I have ever owned...and I've owned a lot ;)

I can't say what the best slicer cutter is of the bunch - there's SO many knives out there. But I CAN say I heard it from someone who heard it from someone else that Cliff MIGHT have said it to someone else that it certainly wasn't a Sebenza!
