What are these?

I am wanting to secure my handles like in the pic... on an axe I am working on.
Are these thong tubing with flared ends or?
How do I do this?

Yes it is flared tubing. You will need to make your own tools or buy some to flare these properly. Search on BF and there are multiple threads about it. Probably in the stickies as well.

Looks like chamfered tubing.I chamfer mine with an 82 degree countersink. I do it after handle is roughed out so I can polish them with the handle.

Thanks I will try searching...would have done it first but didnt know what it was called.

Awhile back (like a year or so) flared the tubing in handle stock using countersunk wood screws and an arbor press. Just grind off the screw portion, put one on the bottom, one on the top, press and viola!
