What are you doing in here?

I ordered a Hikers backup a loooong time back after mtnfolkmike pointed me in his direction. John wasnt really a "regular" of BF yet. Ive since owned several of his blades, designed one, and even shot one ;). I have really enjoyed seeing his business grow, and his blades evolve.

Heres to you John!

Here on Bladeforums (the only forum I visit), I call the W&SS subforum home. Every time some one asks for a fixed blade rec, you can be sure to find JK knives on the first page of the thread. :) And of course, you can't help but notice Pitdog's love for his JK knives.... But as others have pointed out, I see JK owners like Pit and others actually using their knives; that instills confidence :).

I'll admit to never really being grabbed by any of the JK blades I've seen until recently (save the AK knife)... then John's heavy duty Hunter / Camp Knife came along and I knew it would be my first JK. I think it's a departure from John's normal designs, but I love that it still has JK Handmade Knives written all over every line and detail.

Can't wait to have my own first hand experience! :)

Why am I here? Because this jackass over in the W&SS section keeps posting how much he loves this edc and since I'm looking to make an EDC that will double as a woods knife, here I am.

I don't own any of John's blades yet. I love the fact that he makes so many knives designed by his customers. This seems like an extention of WS&S to me but with the topics that would normally get moderated out of WS&S.

I think I'm going to order in the near future but I'm going to go with my own design this time. I have a scandi drawn on there but noticed that Stomper doesn't do them but I'm fine with convexed. What do you think?

I don't know if ya already have a scandi but they cut great, the downside is that they chip very easily, a nice convex with no secondary bevel will cut almost as good and is a stronger edge !!!;)
