Photos What are you fidgeting with during conference calls???

This reminds me that I really need to stop fidgeting with my knives on runs to the supply house.
Wooden platforms attached to beach houses 15-20 ft. in the air probably aren't a good place either
Makes me real confident when I actually need to use a knife though :D

My company is talking about us having our web cameras on during meetings so we "stay connected while working remotely". There is tape over my camera, but I start getting devilish ideas if they end up forcing me to turn it on. Two ideas were
  1. Simulating the scene from Aliens where Bishop is stabbing the knife between fingers.
  2. Leaving the microphone on mute and doing my own version of Dan Ackroyd channeling Julia Child.
:D

The knife that really started my interest in, and purchasing of good knives, was the Gerber Paul back in the last 1960's. It was unlike any other knife I had ever seen. It was also impossible to own one and not fiddle with it. It was a true one handed opening knife. Then Spyderco came along and they became my favorites. I don't really fiddle with my current edc, Gayle Bradley 1 because it is a true working knife.

Here is the latest version of the Gerber Paul.

I fidget with whatever knife I have in my pocket for the day, but I've mostly been practicing my stropping.

I am fidgeting with a Faber-Castell rollerball pen, it has a twist cap open mechanism and if do not open the pen completely it twists close by itself.

I took up knife collecting after retiring so I never had a chance to fidget at work. But if I did I'd have to go with my

ZT 470
Lionsteel TiSpine

Both are office friendly gentleman's knives. And ZTs are the most fun flippers, by far.

Don't do conference calls but I do keep two desk knives handy that are fun to fidget with. One is the Benchmade Snody HK, which to this day is the most satisfying AXIS flicker IMO that I have ever experienced. Also keep a S/A OTF. Aside from being an ideal letter opener, I find the extra step of retracting the knife manually to be soothing. I'm also a pacer, so I'll often be walking around fidgeting with these while I'm on the phone.

Beyond blades, I also often find myself fidgeting with the Fisher Space Pen with the retract button on the side. Plus I keep plenty of spinning tops and yoyos handy at the desk.

Working from home this week, I've been on Web-X, Zoom and Collaborate. Monday and Tuesday, I was playing with a Sage 2. Wednesday and today, QSP Penguin.
I grabbed a Pelican recently, it's pretty sweet. How's the Penguin?

I’m going a little stir crazy today. Fidgeting these three:

My wife keeps looking at me like I’m nuts. :)

I don't fidget or flick them open/close non-stop, but whenever I am in a video conferencing from home, I do randomly grab one to play with it from time to time.
