What are you listening to right now?

O-genio Ray Charles: Live in Brazil

Maybe a little late for the Ozomatli I have up next...
Better transition to some BB King instead:cool:

The thread has inspired me to listen to something other than quiet.

I think I'll put on Lazer Guided Melodies (Spiritualized).

Three Days Grace (One X), Disturbed (Ten Thousand Fists) and Nickelback (All the Right Reasons), on iTunes in a random playlist. Yes, I have taken an interest in the music my 16 year old daughter listens to.

Gillian Welch, and Townes Van Zandt.

Robert Earl Keen, and Neil Young's Faded Glory.

Bill, don't feel bad, we're the same age and I listen to all those bands and like them. I try to give everything listen and enjoy a wide range of music...I'm still young enough to still believe in the "If it's too loud, your too old!"

Go John!

I think that Boogie Woogie is some of the most incredible music ever done. The rythms are intricate and substantial.

A great R&B Singer, Barbara Carr. "Bone Me Like You Own Me" and "You're Gonna Mess Around and Get Bit By My Dog Trying to Get to My Cat"

"the contemporary queen of blue urban soul."

For sound bytes. Not really x rated. Great Blues

When Barbara ends, I am putting on "Green Eyed Lady," by Sugarloaf and cranking up the amps!

Anyone ever heard "What's the Frequency Kenneth?" by REM. Anne's ex-husband William "Manny" Tager was the inspiration for that when he beat the crap out of Dan Rather.

Want to know more? That was just the beginning of the end for Manny.

I thought it was inspired by a common mugging ? I don,t mind R:E:M: . They have a witty song or two .

Actually it was inspired by Anne's ex, Manny Tager. Google "William Tager" for more info.

Manny crashed an ultralight home-built aircraft. he wound up with a plate in hs skull. He began hearing voices. Decided "The Network" was beaming thoughts into his head.

He was already very paranoid anyhow.

BTW He and Anne had been divorced about a year.

He should have made a tin foil hat.

He was walking with a buddy and Manny spied Dan Rather walking along a street in New York City. Anne said that Mannny was "bear sized." (I have not asked further....) but being beat up by Manny, was bad.

Manny felt that rather was directiing the "Network," so, he dragged Rather into an alley and proceeded to beat on him. Rather thought that Manny had mistaken Rather for somone named "Kenneth." This is what Rather told the Police.

However Manny was Jewish and Anne thinks he was really yelling, "What's the frequency GONNIF?" meaning the frequency of the messages being beamed at Manny. "Gonnif" being some slur in Yiddish.

The rest of the story:

A few years later Manny got worse. He decided that he had to take further action, so he went down to the "Network" with an AK-47 rifle.

He got inside through a back door. Of course when people saw his gun, they called the police.

When the police arrived, a stage hand pointed at Manny and said, "That's him." Manny cut him down with a hail of bullets. Then he through the AK47 down, raised his hands and surrendered to the police.

On the way to jail, he said to the cops, "Why don't we just forget about all this and stop for a beer, I'll treat!"

When this story hit the papers, Rather recognized Manny as his assailent.

He is now, according to the internet serving time in Sing Sing in a hospital for the criminally insane, but he is elegible for parole next year.

Sure as hell hope they keep him there forever.

Anne said he was always good to her, though he always sat with his back to a windowless wall when they went out and talked about how his "position was easily defendable." This was before the ultralight crash.

I guess he prepared her well for meeting me. <just kidding>

When will people learn to be discreet ? Yelling out : Thats him : is akin to screaming :Stop thief:

Personally I sneak up on em and wack them a couple of times . Thats when you yell :Stop thief: (Stop bleeding on the carpet .) L:O:L

That Black Rider CD was hard to stomach. I like it better over the years but too much noise. Tried handloading ammo to that once and couldn't concentrate. Finally shut the stereo off and felt better.

Strangely enough, it wasn't bad to drive to. And it's the only Burroughs I have on any recording media now.

The washer and dryer running, though I'm about to put in a Papa Roach CD.

Yeah, it's a demented carnival but I like it anyway. The wife says I'm strange. Hmmm...
