What are you listening to?

Lol, yeah had a crazy 20's before settling down.

I've been to Coachella, Rabbit in the Moon parties, full moon parties on some beach near Amsterdam that I hitch hiked too, Glastonbury, raves on farms near Bobcaygeon middle of nowhere Canada the Winter Music Conference maybe 5 times and a bunch of other stuff.

I like everything from Nostrum, have sat in the DJ booth Paul van Dyk, Sasha and Digweed, to Ak 1200, and like Diplo and yes Shpongle! It was hard to kinda understand at first much like jungle. It's like jazz trying to keep up with what wasn't played vs what was.

This was about a decade ago, a party spilled out of some club a mile from the White House in the middle of the ghetto. Some dude with an Ice Cream truck drove it down to the goa party and in the A.M. the party ended at 7AM parked it in front of some patch of grass and started blasting goa out of his ice cream truck speakers. All the hippy raver kids just sat down and started dancing. One of the guys there was a famous party organizer and he would set up outlaw parties underneath the GW bridge for free. If you're not familiar the GW bridge is right next to the ghetto in NYC.

Anyhow all of the hood gangster kids would get out of their parties in Manhattan go back uptown and would hear this music blasting from underneath the waterfront. They would ask if they could join and hang out and it would just be one giant urban hippy thing. Lol. I saw your from Nayarit? I have family north of you that are Chexican. Half Chinese half Mexican in Los Mochis. They've been there since the 1870s.

Oh hell yes! I had no idea there were other Shpongle fans lurking around here! I've been to 12 different shows, from Simon doing DJ sets to the full live band...always a great time!

New album was just recently released, check it out if you haven't already

If the goa/pys trance stuff is too hard to digest but you kinda like it...sorta not really... try this out...its a little more digestible.

I know what you are trying to say about lurking though. It's hard to like country, rap, rock, pop and then also be in this sub world of trance and psy trance. I've gone to an Allman Bros. concert and a huge outdoor rave festival all in one weekend.

Good stuff man! sounds like we've had some similar experiences...thanks for sharing :)

hehehehe, I love imagining what the scene must have been like at those GW bridge parties...sound like some pretty sweet gatherings!

Also thanks for the suggestions, while my tastes have drifted away from most goa/psytrance these days, I find both of the videos you posted pretty enjoyable. Aside from freaky West coast bass music and Shpongle, a lot of my electronic tastes have moved towards more mellow, psychedelic sounds like this guy:

great tunes to unwind or enjoy some green medicine with...

haha! Chexican - must make for some amazing home cooked meals! I'm not from Naryarit - Lebanese by blood, born and raised in California, but have been living in Nayarit for about a year now and love it down here- such beautiful surroundings and life is really nice and relaxed. should be back in the US by January but will soak up all the goodness to be had in Nayarit while I'm here - one of Mexico's many magickal locations, I suppose :D

We have a really big Lebanese community in NJ. Love the food! Alfanoose in NY is my favorite falafel joint. Its that bread you guys make vs regular blah pita and the pickles that make it special. Anyhoo...I'm definitely more deep dish, behrouz, Sasha these days. Its hard to be normal walking around at 150 bpm...anyhow safe travels!

It's been a Breaking Benny kind of day for me :D

I haven't listened to Korn in a while! I almost completely forgot about them. This might put me on a Korn kick for the rest of the night.

New album not too long ago...Jonathan said in an interview that never never was for the ladies. Lol I didn't get what that meant. korn rules though!
