Hey guys, what are you paying for LN right now. Seems like 20L is about $87 around here right now. That seems kinda high to me?

When I first got my dewar I was paying $9 for 30 liters because the guy was charging me wrong. Got it for that price for about 3 years until they moved the guy to another store. Now I'm paying $2 per liter. Man I wish he'd come back. LOL

My local place has a pretty much set price for filling dewars, seemingly regardless of size. Mine is 50L, they charge me like $58-ish. I recall it was less than $60, got it filled a week or two ago.

Are you using a local welding store or a chain like National/Airgas? I usually find them much more expensive than the local places if you don't have a business account, although it can go the other way also.

Unfortunately for you, nitrogen trees only grow at low altitude. :p But seriously, what is your nearest big town? Surely a round trip won't cost you $50-60 in gas.

Yea I'm going to call around Lexington and Ashland. I'm sure there is someone there more reasonable.

Whats funny, is that up until a few years back when the coal mine industry took a bog downturn every welding supply, gas supply place around sold it. There was a heavy equipment or diesel mechanic in every other building. Every one of them used LN to freeze bearings, races and axles.. Heck they just hauled LN in coffee thermoses and igloo coolers. Now everybody is all, "safety this" and "dangerous" that.... Ahh, the good ol' days.

Out here in Mumbai, we get LN for about 35-40 rupees per liter. Which is about $7 for 10-12 liters.

Look for the local guy who services tanks for AI, much cheaper than the welding supply.

I pay .88 per liter.
