What are you reading?

Hunger's Brides by Paul Anderson
Fragrant Palm Leaves by Thich Nhat Hahn

the local free weekly - which has more in-depth coverage of specific stories than the daily papers

Jack me Lad . There be no problem with holdin yer tongue . I,ll do me best to return the waggly bilge licker back to ye in one piece .

Nope. I'll take a look and see if it's floating around in my mom's books. I've started Dhalgren a few times, but never gotten very far into it. I'm just gonna give it a once-through and see if it becomes any clearer.

It's a LOT more approachable than "Dhalgren". Did the same thing with that one.

Good point. "Finnegan's Wake" == "Time Considered as a helix of semi-precious stones"? Dunno.

A very boring book on installing and configuring a RADIUS server on 2003 standard server.

Very boring.

I want an action adventure novel.

: Last of the Breed : Louis Lamour . I like his writing . Surprisingly this story is not a western . Story of military man with aboriginal anscestry captured by Russians . He ends up being pitted against Siberia in his bid for freedom .

Good from start to finish with more depth of character than some of his shorter stories .

I recently finished "The Places In Between" by Rory Stewart. It is a true story of a Scotsman (Rory) who walked across Afghanistan 6 months after 9/11. No political agenda, just an interesting observation of life and living on kindness and your wits. My friend Atta from Afghanistan is reading it now ~ when he is done I would be happy to mail it to anyone interested, with the caveat that you either send it back to me or another forumite when you are done with it.

Just picked up World War Z from a book store last night. Not too bad. only 20 or so pages in, but I expect things to pick up in the next 250 pages or so;)
