So, I've gotten to the point where I'm pretty satisfied with my inventory/collection of knives. Sure, I often see knives available on the exchange that peaks my interest and would like to own, but aside from a trade, there's really not anything that I want bad enough to put out the cash for at this time.

However, it looks like TRM will start using Magnacut on their Atoms and Neutrons, hopefully starting in 2024. I've really become a fan of the edge retention of Magnacut and the slicing ability and ergonomics of TRM's and have decided to (try) to hold off on any new purchases until they become available.

So my question, Is there a knife that you are holding off for until that particular knife is available, whether a new release or just one that's difficult to find?

Then again I have a reiff knives F4 in my cart, too expensive at the moment
Every knife I buy I try to sell 3 --- I hate collecting so my numbers have to be low

You're definitely not wrong. I suspect most of us don't really "need" more than a knife or two. I really enjoy this forum, but it really takes a lot of self control to not over indulge.
But, for those that have the available funds and are passionate about things that cut, BF's is an awesome site with some awesome, knowledgable folks.
 
Well, I've got two customs coming one in a few weeks and one in November, so I'm tapped out for now. Next year I hope to get a Military 2 in XHP, if it available. XHP is one of my favorite steels, keeps an edge a long time but is relatively easy to sharpen. While I like the higher end steels, I don't foresee myself being able to Sharpen S125V or S390. M390 and S90V are about my limit.

I'm almost done collecting period, but I would like to add a Seamus flipper in Stellite 6k to my stable next year. Probably a custom order with green C-Tek handles if possible.

So, I'm holding out for those. If Biryukov decides to make something in green CF, well that might change everything.
 
I tend to talk myself out of purchases on the simple fact that whatever I buy will end up right on the shelf and wait it's turn to be used and that realization is like sucking on a greasy coin --- doesn't sit right
It's a great dissuader
 
Also waiting for something I like in Magnacut.
I am curious about the BBB 15V folder from Golden as well.
 
I’ve been wanting a CRK (Sebenza or Inkosi) with some kind of interesting handle design (or CGG). I like inlays just fine but I’ve been waiting for a nice engraved design to catch my attention. No luck so far this year. I may go with inlays of some kind or maybe another titanium framelock choice altogether (SHF , Chaves etc). Time will tell.
 
Rassenti Toad with a 3" - 3.3" blade (it doesn't exist, but I'm hoping it materializes)
I haven't really found anything lately that has piqued my interest enough to get it, so I'm just getting true customs made to satisfy the itch 😃
Custom Magnacut Santoku is in the works though.

I'm waiting for a large PJ insingo with silver lugs. After I get one of those, I don't know if there's much more I'll be looking for...
 
I will throw out a long shot, probably never going to happen, wish upon a star ....

MagnaCut got my attention too and I jumped on an LT Wright Bushcrafter Scandi last month. Nothing else seemed too exciting or would be redundancy of something I already own. Yet until we get the farm finished the little Wright won’t have much use in Manhattan.

I agree. Probably would not even go for a crysknife at this point.
 
The big thing (I think) I really want now is a CRK Mnandi. I think. Two things holding me up there - #1, the price. It’s just way above what I told myself I’d ever spend on a knife, though that one at the right time place and bill cycle would be worth it. And #2, I already have a similar style ‘gentleman’s knife’ in the Ochs Worx Solarstorm, which was also more than I thought I’d ever spend on a knife, and even at that it was used on the exchange. So that knife may never come. I certainly don’t need it. So I fill in the void with relative cheapies when the urge strikes.

As a well known enabler with a completely biased opinion, I say buy one!. They are an absolutely amazing knife that punches way above its weight class. It’s not just pretty it’s actually very capable of real world use.

Work Tuff Nomad EDC.. Missed the first run and supposedly they are coming out with a slightly revised knife Sept/Oct!! 🤔
