What are you waiting for??

I'm waiting on a few CPKs from pre-orders.

Otherwise, I've kinda mellowed out. There are a few specific knives that I will opportunistically snap up if someone happens to put them on the block, and I fully expect there to be new shiny things that catch my eye when I'm weak here and there, but that's where I am at the moment.

I've been shopping around with the idea of a new Spyderco Para 2, but I've already got three of them, so I'm trying to control myself.

In the meantime, I just ordered a new Case Trapper, with buffalo horn scales and S35VN steel. I've got a lot of Case Trappers already, but they are all in Case stainless (SS) or Case carbon (CV), so I could not pass up the S35VN. 😅

I'm waiting for DLT exclusive XM-18 3.5" skinny no-choil slicer with Magnacut steel, if they have one in the pipeline (they may already have had one but I missed?). I am also about to buy a large Sebenza 31 in magnacut with wood inlays - there are such knives currently available but I can't seem to make up my mind between drop point and insingo.

Click, click. Here comes another old Kabar I did not know I needed until half an hour ago.

The one thing I am waiting for is a preorder on a CPK Basic 5. I managed to get a couple of others Carothers over the last couple of years, and may be done buying those. I have bought a lot of knives in the last few years, mostly to satisfy my curiosity. There is nothing that I particularly want to buy, but you never know when the impulse will strike.

You might be waiting forever
I was on their waiting list for 2 fixed blades and after 2 years they cancelled my order, no email or anything so --- 🤷
Not to change the subject, just ignore me it's fine

My last knife purchase was in late 2022. I've only recently returned to this site; but I have no intention of falling back into prior purchasing decisions...I've got more than enough knives
(Prove me wrong)
This is me as well. I believe it has been over a year, but I tend to pick something up every year or so.
Too many knives laying around that have never been used and none of mine are collectors - don't plan on selling any which makes it harder to purchase anything.

Edit: Would like to try something in magnacut however :)

I've entered the phase in my collecting that my desire has diminished and my income has increased. I'm sort of in the sweet spot where there is nothing that really jumps out at me as I am a user first and foremost not a collector, but I generally have the funds to buy what I want if I can justify it to myself.

So I have a few things on my radar. I think I see a Spartan model of some sort in my future. The LKS is carrying them, and they seem like a fine addition to my rotation...but I don't feel a need to hold out for or hunt down anything, really.

Work Tuff Nomad EDC.. Missed the first run and supposedly they are coming out with a slightly revised knife Sept/Oct!! 🤔
Gotta hold on!!!😂
John :)

I own a second run in N690 from late last year myself, I will be very interested to see what the revisions are!!

With all these posts lately of members talking about wanting to quit buying knives..........?

I sure did pick a good time to start making them. Hahaha!!! :O

For me, insingo is the way to go, both in function and ease of sharpening on a fixed angle sharpening system.

You won't be disappointed with a Spartan Harsey. Just don't get a large unless you REALLY like to pocket a large knife. They are very substantial!

I didn’t grab one when you gave me the info. 😞
So I sent them an email asking when the next run will be. That’s what they told me so I am patiently (😂😂) waiting!!
John 😁

I have three knives at the top of my list:

1. Hinderer Half-Track to match my Hinderer XM-24.
2. MKT Praetorian Ti Genesis to match my Praetorian Slim.
3. Microtech Socom Elite to match my Stitch.

I carry knives in pairs.

CRK Sebenzas and Spartan SHF's have never let me down!
