What are your collecting interests now?

Jparanee, are any of those bows vintage bear recurves?

I own one, a 48" kodiak magnum, from the mid 60s and I love it, shoots fast and hard for 45# pull

That was an AWESOME bow!

I have a couple of vintage recurves but once I bought a compound, lost interest in shooting the traditional bows. Would like to get a nice "takedown" recurve, but being left handed sucks when it comes to finding bows!

My interest in knives has gone from accumulating all the manufactured knives I had ever wanted to customs. The types of knives extend from traditional slipjoints, engraved knives, to fixed blade bowies, fighters, etc.

Duh Swidya .. ini kan ane udah kepronggokan namanya :D
Parang ladingnya baru akan dikirim lepas lebaran i/A .. dan i/A saya akan pamer di ForPis sebaik saya terima .. begitu deh :)

.. that is really sweet couple ..
Thanks a lot pal :)
In Malaysia this sort of parang lading is an "endangered species"!
Nowadays people used machines in agriculture and field works!
Few "species" were already extinct :(

Cool stuff, Joe! I was making recurves and long bows 20 years ago. Almost stopped making knives to make bows fulltime...

Don please tell more :)

Pics ? Do ya still shoot ?

I had to fix my post to say; I almost stopped making knives.

Don't shoot much anymore, but do think about it and plan to start back. Just seem to always be too busy. I made around 20 bows back in 92 and shot in a few traditional shoots, but never got around to bow hunting. I seriously considered making bows full time, but knives had too strong a hold on me.

I don't think I have any pics, but I'll look.

My knife collecting interests really haven't changed since I started collecting, still crazy about forged bowies and hunters.

hey Joe, yeah, I was lurking. I still shoot the same ole take down recurve. I did engrave the washers though on it.:)
I am getting set up to go back to hog hunting as soon as the Micro show is over and I have real yearing to take a puma with my bow next year.

Speaking of collecting along with knives I collect metal arrow points. I have some armor pearcing points, flesh points, a couple of really old Aftican points as well as some monkey points, some fish points and recently was able to add a couple of turtle points. All of the ones that I collect are the older hand forged ones. I like seeing the craftsman ship that goes into some of those points.

Dang Don, I did not know that about you, there are other sides than your backside evidently.

I began bow hunting in 1970 and haven't missed a season since, first bows were a bear grizzly and a Ben pearson always used the glue on bear steel heads and made several cedar shafts, pretty cool stuff but I finally yielded to a Browning excaliber 2 wheeler about 25 yrs ago.. The only thing I've ever collected in any numbers is fishing plugs , over 3,000 now dating back to the late 50's. My wife hates it when I go to any tackle shop. :D

As long as we are going into other hobbies

I like to road bike, flyfish, and trail run. Photographing kid's sports is also fun

Would love to see your bow and I've heard some of your hunting adventures all great stuff :)

Joe, those are some nice bows. I have a weakness for recurves myself-- old bows, broadheads, archery stuff in general.

Here's a rack of some of my old Bears and Ben Pearsons--mostly from pawn shops years ago when they were considered junk and you could get them cheap.
