i dont mean this to be a thread meant to spawn new models from, rather a thread for you to post your dream blades from hi.

personally, i've owned a few of the ones i've "always wanted", the falcata, the 30" ang khola, 25" siru, bjutan sword. i have a 25" ganga ram coming...

my dream blades, the ones i probably would consider asking for in the exact configuration i want them because of the difficulty in making them, but would still love to have them fill out my existing collection -

1) 3/4" thick-1" thick
-18" ang khola
-bhutan sword
2) nodachi - a 46-52" version of the everest katana
3) custom handled falcata - in 2 variations
-one with a 2 handed grip (for large hands)
-one with a one handed grip, with a squared off pommel, something similar to the back of a normal khukuri grip so that your hand wouldnt be able to slide to the bottom of the handle.
4) a longer handled banchero
5) a 20" 40oz tin chira
6) a 25" sher attitude model *potentially with gaurd*
7) a 30" 2 handled sher attitude model :D *potentially with gaurd*
8) full tang dui chirra with the full accesories kit

all models by sher :D

bura does the best fit and finish quality i've seen, but for me sher does the best user freindly designs. his handles are nice and round and hand filling, and his blade designs and finishes, while not "stunning" are always perfect. i've never had a sher model that i had anything i could complain about - except the 30" ang khola wich had a handle that was a little to thick. but it was still a great handle.

I want a Samsher, nuff said there, and another FF with a real crooky handle at 17" and 28oz.

as far as i am concerned, i'd go for:

a katunje 12-14" and a BDC 10" or 14", with wooden handle,

Alex

Three come to mind.

1) Rod Allen Hanshee

2) JP's Afghan model.

3) The knife that is on this month's calendar, but without the carving on the handle.

hmmm..custom blade??

a slightly smaller 3.5"blade Kerambit (yea i own one and Andy doesnt!) :p

A Chiruwa AK with a 20" blade with a THICK spine and wood handled

A YCS Karda with a choil

A JKM with a Choil

A battle ax...just because I want one!

Hmmm...

A 16", 32 oz. Samsher with a tapered handle (Hill Walnut) narrow enough that I can get a good grip. And another of the same with a chiruwa handle.

A horn-handled, standard-size, M43 with a standard bolster.

A 15" 23 oz. village pen with horn handle

A 16" 28 oz. chiruwa, horn-handled, village BGRS with standard bolster

Of course, with no cho creep...which doesn't bug me on my village WWIIs and some AKs, but would bug me on these models...

Now that I ordered and received my katana and big GRS, there's not a lot left on my list of real bad wants these days, though I see some tempting DOTDs now and again. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to be on at the right time for the past few months (and won't for the foreseeable future :grumpy:), which is forcing me to expand my horizons a bit in the realm of knife and khukuri chasing.

Personally, I'm still drooling over the Bolo from the other day.

BoloBoloBoloBoloNow...

lol.

Take care.

I would like to see an elegant presentation khothimoda khukuri made along classic 19th century lines. It should have a much thinner dui-chira long leaf blade then the current line, be made of woozt steel, with an elegant cho and steel bolster, and a balance and finish quality worthy of an owner with the power to have the craftman put to the sword. No expense should be spared on the tooled silver handle, sheath, or pommel. The purpose of the knife would be to highlight whatever the top tier craftmanship can be found in Nepal; not just in knife making, but in all apects of native metal work. It would be a real museam piece; which could answer the question: Do we still have the skills to recreate a 19th century prestige item? It would be fun to find out.

I would like a Pompei styled gladius. The Manjushree comes close, but I would like one without any fullers and about 2 lbs. total weight. The tang should run through and should be pinned at the end of a shorter grip. The guard can stay as it is, or a round gladius style would be even nicer.

The Manjushree is pretty and close, but a Nepalese gladius would be really nice.

I'd like to see a locking folder knife similar to a Buck. Not neccesary to have endcaps or even wooden handle halves. It could be all spring steel.
I'd like it on the large side, but small enough to drop into a pocket, and probably large enough to gather comments like: Is that a knife in your pocket or are you just glad to see me?

A thrower . something in the one pound range . A horn handle would be nice if they could figure out how to keep it on . ( a buddy of mine just gave me a thrower with an epoxied handle . I tried not to laugh cause I knew itwas coming off first throw . )

That awesome twisted horn handled filet/deboning style knife that was on about a month back .

A tanto front edged knife with a 3 and a half inch blade . (Thats long not wide . ) L:O:L

Yes ,why not ! This is a dream list right ? About a three pounder Khuk . Two handed and just for ushering out unwanted guests .

A) "villager" falcatas as above. Don't misunderstand me, the ones that have been offered lately have been spectacular, but I would like to get one that would be a "user", without the beautiful carved sheath.

B) more bolos

C) YCS kardas in various sizes

D) HI version of the Wakizashi, now that the katana exists.

Lastly, make the sheaths more "left-hand" friendly. For knives without kardas or chakmas, this would be
as simple as moving the seam in the leather to one edge or the other. Being a leftly, when I get a new knife
from HI (or most anywhere else, for that matter), the first thing I have to do is modify the sheath.
If that is not possible, I have to make a new sheath for it.
