BM vs Spydie - I started with Spydie, went all BM for a while, now buy both. In any given year or decade, I tend to want, and get, a higher percentage of the new BM designs that appear than I do the Spydies. But I love the knives from both makers that I have.

I like all my Benchmades, but you only asked for three.;)
I prefer BM over Spyderco.
 
One of my favorite knives overall is the 530.
My two and three: Opportunist and the Sequel Limited Edition

I am not the biggest fan of Spyderco, but I understand their desire. I have always had a thing for Benchmade.

I used to love Gerbers til I bought Kershaws, until I bought Spdercos, until I now have bought BM. Uh, I love 'em all but currently BM is my fav.
 
In no particular order:
Full size Ambush, love that extra hard AUS 8
BM 42 Balisong, carried and used for over a year, with 12C27 blade steel
73x Ares, the one with the red and black G-10. Gave it to my brother after recieving it from a forumite.

I never could get a 710 McHenry and Williams sharp, the recurve confounded me, but my buddy loved it so much that he bought it.
I have a TSEK, but its a little too big, and the blade/handle ratio is a little low.
 
73X Ares. All variations of a perfect theme.
55X Griptilian. Sheepfoot, oval hole, thumbstuds, M2, 154CM, S30V, whatever it is, it's the slickest AXIS of them all.
690. Handsome, handy, and refined.
