Hello there TheKnifeCollector,

It is nice to see you here. Well, it is much easier for me to state which fixed blades are not my favorites as I really do love most all of the makes and types of the breed, from the very old to the very new.. Actually, now that I think about it, this same rule of thumb could be applied to my favorite types of Firearms as well.. But that is a thread/post for another day.

OK Then:

Least favorite maker: Cold Steel and any/all cheaply made knives in general.

Least favorite type: Anything Tanto. Anything Miniature. Anything Fantasy.

Knives are tools and should be made to use. There is nothing wrong with a beautiful knife, much to the contrary, as long as it is built to work, and work hard!

Blessings,
Anthony

WOW:confused:, i only own 4 fixed blades, thats not right. Im going to have to fix that!

Not in particular order, but:

1. Mora
2. Boker Arbolito Stag 519HH
3. Queen SFO Clip Blade
4. Western 71
5. Precision Silver Eagle
6. MICK custom

None of the above knives are all that expensive, with some being downright inexspensive. However, they all are just good, handy knives that cut very well and I have faith in. That makes them my favorites. Well, the Western 71 is still frustrating me on getting the right edge, but I just like it. The rest are solid cutting machines.

For a hard use, "survival" knife I would probably have an old Cold Steel SRK along that has proven itself. I'm not necessarily a CS fan, but this older unit is a good one.

I had to resist adding an inexpensive Gerber Profile. It's a $20 knife at Wally World that is surprising as I've mentioned here before. I'm not much on modern Gerbers either, but once again, this is an exception.

Added: I forgot about my Russell Green River Knife. New, carbon, and needing a sheath, but it cuts great and is such a classic knife. Again, not expensive, but a real, honest to goodness, working knife with classic lines.

When my Busse LEFBM arrives, it will likely take the top spot, but currently my favorites are every fixed blade in this picture:

and two that just arrived today:

And I have a couple others not pictured. . .

I love most knives, but I just seem to keep buying the knives made in Wauseon OH. Must be something they put in the water.

I would have to revise my favorite fixed blades, as some of the originals are gone.
My favorites are:
Tommy Gann Hunter
Sean O'Hare Kestrel
Charles May Fireant
Tom Krein TK-2
CRK Shadow III

The ones that I curently own are

Ranger Afghan
AG Russell Woodswalker

The ones I'd like very much to own are too numerous to list.
