  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

What are your favorite TV/movie scenes involving knives/other blades?

A few more of my favorite examples of knife content on tv-

Another favorite is an episode of "Fast & Loud" on the Discovery channel. The guys buy an old rusted-out car, and to check the extent of the rust damage to the cars body Aaron, the head wrench, pulls out some kind of "tactical" folder from his pocket, opens it, and proceeds to punch the blade through the rusted door/panels.

I found it oddly pleasing to see a guy use a knife with absolute disregard for it's well being, and without a moments hesitation. It's not like he was doing anything that might destroy the knife, like trying to pry open a jammed car door. He was using the knife within it's limits.

Clearly he did not romanticize his knife and look upon it as a living being, or some sacred religious artifact sent from the heavens. It was just a sharpened, pointy piece of steel with a handle attached that he used for whatever task was at hand.

He used a Emerson CQC-7.

Ryan Gosling working a butterfly knife in the opening scene of “The Place Beyond the Pines”, and Vin Diesel shaving his head with his “personal grooming appliance” (shiv) in”Pitch Black”.

I don’t think it’s been mentioned so I’ll do it here. The movie “The Professional” starting Jean Reno and Gary Oldman. Jean Reno plays the part of a Professional hit man protecting a young girl (a young Natalie Portman).

First of all ....it is an excellent movie and I highly recommend it. In the movie, Jean Reno doesn’t say much but there comes a point in the movie when he genuinely cares for the girl and let’s her in on a bit of his personal life. He describes what it takes to be a professional killer. There is not only a great knife scene, but a gripping anecdote of when and how to use a knife as a professional killer.

This movie has a cult like following and again I highly recommend it. The final scene alone is worth it.

GREAT catch! Leon the Professional is an excellent movie from what I understand. One of my favorite, Danny Aiello is in it. Thanks.

Brendan Frasier in The Mummy, when he flips out his bali to cut the evil bug out of Johnathon’s arm before it can eat his brain.

The Tantos in Hitman

lol, those are hardly tantos, more like wakizashi or at least ko-wakizashi (the slightly shorter variants; )

it's rare to find realistic blade fights in movies, but there have been exceptions

also, this guy is worth listening to

that has to be one of the worst fight scenes of all time... it's not even up to 'b' movie worthyness

wow, jcvd really made some absolute junk lol
horrible choreography
super unrealistic in every way
were they trying to make a 'c' class movie genre?

LOL, it being so bad is what makes it so good. The scene in the tunnel is pretty good though.

Since the ZT 0301/302 are ones I missed out on buying. I like the scene in NCIS when Gibbs and Denozzo whip some out and cut some fireplace steaks.
