what are your knife plans after you pass on?

I'm only 20, but my chosen profession requires that I think about these kinds of things well before most of my peers need to. Mine would probably be distributed to my friends, with the exception of the Buck 119 Special that my father gave me when I earned Eagle Scout and the Randall 14 that my parents gave me for graduation. Those will go back to my parents.

My guns will go to my friends for now.

If I get my wish and am blessed with a few children who share my passion for the outdoors and well-made tools and weapons, I'll be leaving them to the next generation.

chisaloia, you ahve inspired a new topic.

I would hope that my knives are given to my friends and family and/or distributed to various BFC members, but I don't have a will or anything similar, so I have no idea what will happen to them.

Since I am turning 17 in 4 months you'd think I wouldn'tve devoted alot of thought to this... but I have :)

Heh heh, how sad eh?

Seriously though, if I have kids, and they want em, great.
Otherwise I'll just leave em as part of the estate and let my kids/wife/whoever runs my estate sell em off or stuff them in a shoebox at their leisure.

My knives are not who I am, and I don't seriously expect them to live on forever as some kind of legacy of me, that'd be pretty sad.

Mostly they'll go to my son, who's also into knives (his picture appeared a couple of years ago in Blade's "The knife I carry" column). A few will go to my brother and daughters. I have a detailed letter with my estate stuff that explains who gets what and also how to go about selling the various types of knives, should my son want to pare down the collection.

A few years ago, my Sons were fighting over who would get what. They finally decided that my older Son would get my guns, and the younger Son would get the knives. At this time, my younger Son is way ahead, as I only have a few guns left. My knife collection, however, is getting bigger and bigger.
