What are your knife-related "pet peeves"?

I was just curious to know what little things you just hate when you get a knife.... The blade being off center, the pocket clip being to loose or tight, not enough texturing on the handle, that one little spot where the scale was milled improperly and doesn't quite touch the liner...i could go on and on. Of course, none of us would want a knife that had any of these imperfections, but sometimes, you get a lemon out of a run of knives and it just aint fun. So, what "little things" or pet peeves really just don't sit well with you?

-dull knife out of the box (especially for a quality brand knife)
-blade play that can't be corrected via tightening on a new knife.

- No tip up option
- Blade not centered/blade rub
- Slop
- Dull
- Slow action opening

#1 though ... "on backorder" email after placing an order that says "in stock". But that's not the knife/makers fault.

factory edge angles vary from side to side - This really bugs me... make 'em even, dangit!
Small screws - hate 'em.

Off center blades I can tolerate, but if the blade rubs the liner or handle, it bugs me to no end.

1 - Blade play.
2 - Uneven or crooked blade grinds.
3 - Rough or sharp edges on the scales or liners that stick into your hands during use.
4 - Lack of sharpening choil or similar feature (as in Sebenza or Griptillian blades, etc.)
5 - Weak lock, or weak back springs in the case of slip joints.

Blade play bothers me and knives that can only be carried a certain way like only tip up. Also when knives are overpriced just because there is someone's name written on it.

lets see:
loose lock up that can't be fixed by tightening pivot screw
pocket clip on the end of the axle
dull blade(s) out of the box
knife locks that fail with some pressure put on the end of the blade (pushing down)
blade that won't hold an edge worth $%#@
assisted openers with broken springs

so, most of you guys dont like me (see username) haha.

mine is people borrowing it for a quick task, or just too look at it, then handing it back different than i handed it to them. open/closed

Weak springs on slipjoints. Weak liner lock or frame lock. Blade rub. Dull new knives. I hate it when slipjoints aren't flush when open or closed.

I hate & try not to let non-knife people handle my nice knives.

I had one idiot almost rip the lever off a Hubertus leverlock after showing him exactly how it worked and demo'ing it in advance. Makes me sick 3 years later now just thinking about how the lever flops around.

Also hate them fondling the satin finishes with greezy paws and I have to spend a 1/2 hour wiping the blade down to normal.

The cure is: I don't let people handle my knives except for my Dad and my brother who understand the proper etiquette in these matters. :)

I hate non aggressive serrations, (like Kershaw's new style) to me they are not aggressive enough, I like aggressive serrations.
