Oddly enough, if you have these knives or their functional equivalents, you should have just about every knife you'd ever need, ha!

Gayle Bradley has my vote. It has great blade-steel, nice blade thickness, carbon fiber, tough as heck, solid in the hand. I've had more than a few pass-throughs; presently have three NIB.
Of course, I don't carry one; I just admire the heck out of it.
The Spyderco Superleaf is another great buy. Recently discontinued; is available for about $100 NIB in VG-10, 4mm blade thickness. Great heavy-duty blade. Has compression lock like the PM2.
Sonnydaze (I carry CRK)

You read my mind, Sonny - and beat me to the punch!

The Spyderco Gayle Bradley is one of the absolute best production folders on the market, period. You get a lot of knife for your dollar with this one. The SuperLeaf is a nice blade and has the compression lock - and it will be in stock at various discounters only for a little while longer. I own and carry both of these knives.

If you are looking for something lighter weight - you can't go wrong with the Delica or Endura. Lots of colors and steel choices - and a bargain at the price.

I'd have to go with the classic Buck 119 for my domestic fixed blade, and domestic folder is my Gerber FAST draw
Foreign fixed I gotta give to either my Mora triflex or my Condor Hudson Bay and folder would be either Spyderco Tenacious or Kershaw Scamp. The Spyderco was just the perfect size and shape for my taste and the scamp not only came shaving sharp out of the box, it has a framelock which is just awesome for a $20+/- knife.

Since the pic of the S&W didn't delete for some reason, I'll mention that for about $40 its a big, tough folder with the fastest, strongest a/o action of any folder I've ever handled.

Opinel for folders. Stupid good for under $20.

Buck has a long way to go in terms of getting the recurring blade wobble issues fixed before they earn me back as a customer. My Bucks wobble. My Opinels don't.

The Sage series from Spyderco is a pretty incredible value in my opinion. You get a great 3 inch, FFG S30V blade, and depending on the model you choose, you get a wonderfully crafted handle out of titanium/Cf/G10/Ironwood. Really great knives.

I know we're trying to mention the least expensive, good quality blades but when it comes to a moderate priced bang for buck domestic fixed blade its Becker all the way and if they made a folder it would probably take the domestic folder category too;)

Fixed domestic: Spyderco Mule Team MT17P K390 (discontinued, but easily worth 2-3x the price for the performance you get out of it)

spyderco native frn. American made, s30v, great small package and terrific ergonomics, roughly seventy bucks. barely fifty bucks back when I got mine, but still a good value IMO.

Fixed- Ontario Spec Plus gen 2 lineup.

Folders- A. G. Russell gunstock lockback

Either of these can be found for $50 or less.

The Gayle Bradley....a lot of knife with great materials. One of the Best Spydies out there IMO.

The rat 1,great knife, I got 1 in neon green, easier to find. The best slicer I have. Under $30.

The most fun I've had on the cheap are from cold steel machetes, especially the kukri. You can beat them to shit and not worry too much about the loss of 15 bucks.

hmm, when I think about knives I have that are under $25 or even $20, they are variations of Mora knives. They get no special treatment...

Benchmade Bone collector mini griptilian D2 steel green and black G10 $62, not crazy about the logo on the blade but the knife is great.

Benchmade Griptillian, Spyderco tenacious,Resiliance, Rat 1.

Any of the Becker line, anything by Esee. Esee isn't the cheapest, but considering that they come with quality sheaths, and an outstanding warranty, I think they are a great value.
