• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

What are your sharpening "milestones"?

I had two sharpening milestones this week. First I achieved hair whittling sharp edges on 4 different steels this week (Case CV, Victorinox Stainless, VG-10, and S30V). Second my father commented on how sharp my CV Case Peanut was after asking what knife I was caring during Thanksgiving diner.

Im still only able to get edges hair popping consistently. Ive had one hair whittling edge but it was just a fluke since Ive never been able to get back to that level.

Just half assed whittled hairs with 2 different knives. Im not sure if they count though since I had to run the hair over the blade about a half dozen times each before they bit. Not quite there yet but getting better. My last hair splitting edge (the one Ive never been able to duplicate) was with bench stones and lots of stropping. These two were both off a sharpmaker with ultra fine rods & no stropping.
