What are your watch requrements?

For some reason, I equate deeper ratings with better quality.

Ditto.

The other thing we must remember is that when they say a watch is resistant to 200 or 300 meters it does not mean that they can literally be taken that far down.

In reality it just means you can scuba dive with it. With a 20 bar watch to normal depths, and with a 30bar probably a little deeper than what most divers go to.

2 or 300 meters down your watch is screwed, seriously.

For me, I'm not a scuba diver, but I figure the tighter the construction the better it is.

I have a Seiko 007 classic diver, automatic with jubilee bracelet. It's a 20bar watch. If I could afford a 30bar or more, I would buy it!

My dream watch has ALWAYS been a Rolex Submariner, but I doubt I could ever afford one. I am also a big fan of Panerai, but again, that's soooo way out of my league it's not funny.

I'm very happy with my 007.

I like digital.

1. Time - choice military or reg display.
2. Date with month and day indicator (ie. Mon, Tue, etc) displayed all the time. I don't want to hit a button to see the date (mostly a thing of the past I think nowadays). At times during my old job, I use to work 12 hr shifts, 8 days on, 3/4 off, and we use to meticulously document our work (using military time). The days ran together like you wouldn't believe. A quick glance at the watch made life and the paperwork easier.
3. Background light
4. Two alarms. Not a fan of cell phones. My primary source of "reminding" me about something.
5. Rubber type band.
6. WR to 500000M. In case I fall off the boat into the Mariana(s) Trench.

I could just put Casio G shock and be done with it.
