What are your ZT wishes for the Blade Show 2014?

For 2014, the 0563 should be a wharnie Hinderer collaboration.

Looking to 2015, either SHOT or Blade, I would love it if ZT would do a collaboration with Kelly McCann to make the Canis.

What are my ZT wishes for Blade Show 2014? That's easy. Release of all of the new knives ZT announced at Blade Show 2013 before Blade Show 2014 begins.

3.5" wharncliffe manual flipper without a choil in M390.

Anything else is just gravy.

I would like to see 3 inch flipper with Ti handles and S110V blade. just me tho they are doing their thing and doing it well

This is a good natured topic. DO NOT derail it with these types of comments.

Not likely to happen, but since we are talking about wishes. I'd say a few pens would be pretty cool, possibly a Hinderer collab in that area would seal the deal for many. Some more Blurs with boutique steel could be good too, but I'm pretty happy with what I've seen on the US manufacturing side of the product line. The 0454 is absolutely on my must have list.

marlowe or Ikoma designed edc balisong.

Gets my vote.

Announcing a variant to the 0454 with a plain blade to be released in large numbers would also be nice. And how about a Emerson collaboration based on the CQC10?

A. New lock mechanism. Maybe another trick from the sleeves of G&G Hawk? B. A new, large Emerson design. I'm thinking 4.5" blade here.

I'd LOVE to see a slim-ish folder with a 2.75" blade and an OAL of less than 7".... im thinking mini 550/551.

1) A lock mechanism superior to the liner lock, there's LOTS to choose from. Pass the cost of licensing a superior lock onto the customer if ZT's designers can't come up with their own. With production prices these days it's obvious the customer will pay it. It still amazes me that the average knife consumer wants a knife with all the inconsistencies inherent to the frame/liner lock design. We all know companies/makers love the frame/liner lock because it's free and it's cheap/simple to produce, but too many companies still can't do it consistently. More and more people are paying $200-300+ for knives these days, they'll pay a bit more for a better lock.

2) Textured handle slabs of the SAME material on both sides that have some GRIP, or at least inset some textured G10/carbon slabs. It still amazes me that people think a high end knife has an exposed lock bar, smooth metal on one side and smooth carbon fiber on the other and that's the combo that fetches the highest prices. I believe it's a testament to how few people are really using their knives for anything other than cardboard boxes, mail, and a fashion statement.

3) If it's going to be a flipper, get rid of the "blade stops" and use a stop pin. Much cleaner looking design.

4) Improve R&D/manufacturing/testing etc. to get products to market faster, 6 months max. I don't believe that comment derails the thread, and it applies to way more manufacturers than just ZT. Over the last few years more and more companies are releasing things at SHOT that are not hitting the market within 12 months, and we're seeing more and more products that never hit the market. It's starting to become a concept car show, if it can't get to market in 6 months, introduce it mid year.

5) I'd like to see some tactical pens and especially PENCILS, but only if the price is reasonable, if it's going to be $100+ then there's already lots of options for that market. Especially something with some thread on attachments (LED light, extendable magnet, laser pointer, and the common ones we already see)

A few more Emerson collaborations - I'd like a spearpoint/drop point framelock folder, with a handle similar to the Commander or Specwar's. The economy version can go with black G10 on the nonlocking side and an Elmax blade, but the fancier one will employ a Ti bolster with a CF scale and M390 blade.

The first tomahawk (0102) was a good step, but perhaps consider a collab with RMJ Tactical or Daniel Winkler.

A monolithic Ti framelock - that would be something, since right now those are pretty much exclusive to the world of customs.

As for existing models, I'd like to see the ZT 0180 available in stainless with a stonewashed blade. Foliage green or FDE scales, but contoured a bit more like the Fieldtac's, using a texture like that on the 0560/0561.

Haven't seen a new lock that I feel will sell well to the masses. We don't have too many issues with frame/liner lock designs, so I'm not seeing a reason. All non-frame/liners we've utilized in the past have been losers.

IMO, fashion and performance don't always contradict each other. Feel it's more personal preference than anything else here. I'm unsure if its fair to label a specific build set up as fashion only.

Agreed, but then there are those that want the studs and are quick to point out they're missing...:)

Oh it's off topic, but I've addressed this recently. Page 8 and 9...http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1144616-Zero-Tolerance-Knives-Announced-at-the-2014-SHOT-Show?p=13193167#post13193167

We'd be very late to the party, and the revenue it would generate would be anorexic, but it would be cool to make a USA version.
