What blade for this scenario?

If you were stuck on a tropical island next to the ocean and you could only pick one blade and no other equipment what so ever what would it be-Gerber lmf 2, Kabar bk2, Gerber prodigy or anything becker. I personally would pick the LMF 2 for the intergrated sharpener and the rust resistance next to salt water. What would you pick?:)

The Gerber LMF 2 is designed for cutting live wires. If you're not doing that, I'd go with the Becker line up.

By the way.. .I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for people to agree with you about what great shtf/hunting/survival knives your beloved Gerbers are.

I do admire your persistence though. Was is this, about the third or fourth thread you opened on the subject?

bk2 for three reasons...

1.) The handle is removable

2.) The LMF is serrated. Disgusting!!

3.) It's not junk like the Gerber is

Whatever knife is the longest and sturdiest. I have lived in tropical Samoa next to the ocean, and the villagers I lived and worked with do ALL of their tasks with a good machete. Any good, inexpensive machete marketed to locals who actually use them for everyday chores will do the job. :D

Bk7. But if I got to pick whatever I'd get a spyderco Pacific salt. If I'm on the ocean I won't want a rusty knife.

Just to go very quickly off-topic, aside from the implausibility of this scenario (I'm stranded on a tropical island and there's a pile of knives on it and I can only choose one? I have to pick a knife and then get stranded on a tropical island?), there is a bigger question I need to throw out.

Arent tropical islands, by definition, next to the ocean? Is there a kind that isn't?

Back on topic.

The correct answer is Tram. What does Faiaoga win? :D

I m Just gonna pray that no one would never ever get
marooned on an island with nothing more than a gerber
But, if it happens to fall on me, I might choose to
Accidentally loose the gerber and live of rain water and raw fish.
