I'm just curious what type of blade/blade shape you guys have the most of. Here are mine in order.

Drop point: (probably because it's the most done out of all of them) 50%

Clip point: 20%

Wharncliffe: 10%

Spear point: 10%

Tanto/Reverse Tanto: 5%

Karambit, Hawk Bill, Khukri other: 5%

Because of the large number of traditional pocket knives in my knife accumulation, overall, I probably have more clip points than anything else.
For a similar reason, overall my next most common blade shape is likely a sheepsfoot blade.

Among modern knives, I think it's a tossup between clip and drop point. (By "modern knife", I mean anything made since 1962.) I'd need to count to figure it out, and life's too short for that.

So I am not voting in the pole.

Good point knarfeng knarfeng . I need to hyphen wharncliffe with sheeps foot. I knew I would forget a few & you guys would remind me. ;)

Tough call. As knarfeng knarfeng said above, I've got lots of traditional folders (stockmen, trappers, jacks, moose, barlows, etc.) with clips. But I've also got loads of drop point modern folders and fixed blades, plus whatever blade shape Spyderco puts on the Endura and Delica (leaf-spear?). So, I voted drop point but, if I actually attempted to count, it could probably go either way.

You would be correct Willy. The Delica & Endura are both considered drop points. Thanks for voting & commenting, buddy.

Clip point, Drop point, Hawkbill, Trailing/Persian, Spear, Sheepsfoot/Wharncliffe, Tanto, Upswept Skinner, Guthook.

I own a surprising number of Hawkbills and downward curving blades, I just find them aesthetically pleasing. For being a very common shape I don't own many Spear Points, they just just don't "speak" to me often. I'd own a lot more Persians/Trailing Points, but they were a somewhat uncommon shape till recently. I own one Guthook, that I just bought for study.

My most used knives have some accents of drop point or clip poont, but they are close to straight back.

Otherwise, I have about 1 for each type, except your "other" category.

I didn't go count 'em.
My fav' is spear point but I seem to have more clip points .
That said I get along VERY WELL with "delicate" tipped knives e.g. Spyderco Pattada & Pattadaese , and Para 2s
Some of my knives that I feel the most comfortable with (does what I want to do) are my several Cold Steel Ti Lites (skiny blade / spear point) most of them I have ground thin or other wise modded (shortened the blade )
Lots and lots of Trappers = clip points (slip joints as well as locking) a couple of nice Wharncliffes on those which I like a lot.
[sorry 'bout the spelling ; don't feel like working that hard tonight ]

Boy, this is a great question, and I don’t think I could legitimately even guess without going through my whole collection.

Because my collection is predominantly traditionals, I would also need additional direction as to what bucket to put things like pen, coping, Spey and sheepsfoot blades. These are common secondaries and could really skew the results for me.

Most of the knives I have seen marketed as "Bowie knives" have had clip points.
Clip+Spear=Bowie?

It's own style.

Like you on the dance floor.
