What blade would You recommend?

So the knives problem is more or less solved :) We will probably go for something from Mora or if we will find any sponsor than BK-2 will be our choice.
I have to discuss with my friends thing about bringing with us the same kind of knives or different ones.

Now to answer all Your concerns about our safety.

We will have a cell phone somewhere near so we can easyli call for help in case of emergency. The same thing goes for food and drinking water. We want to have extreme experience but we are not willing to risk our lives.

If it's about maiking fire or purifying water - we have some background but we still need a lot of preparation. But don't worry - we are going to do our homework :P

Of course I will let You guys know how it went and how show You the videos :)

Just a little safety advice from a SAR volunteer: leave a game plan and do take a rucksack with food, water and emergency gear. By all means do try to live off the land if that's your goal, but have that pack handy in case of emergency. I don't mean to lecture you on outdoors safety, it's just a small piece of advice to make your adventure safer.

OK, on to the knives. If there are 6 of you working together, a having a few different types of cutting tools would certainly be a good thing. Every knife design on Earth is a compromise and handles some tasks better than others, having two or three different designs gives you greater flexibility.

With your budget, I would go for some Moras (Swedish knives, you can get the basic ones for a little over 10 bucks!), good machetes and perhaps a Swiss army knife or two. That would give you excellent all around bush knives (Moras); decent choppers for shelter building, fires, etc. (machetes); and some extra tools like awls, saws, etc. in the Swiss army knives (Victorinox models like the Hunter, One Hand Forester, One Hand Trekker, Farmer, etc. are awesome and within your budget).

Do a search on "Nessmuk" or "Nessmuk trio", and you'll get a lot of information on the kind of combination I'm talking about (chopping tool+medium size fixed blade+folder). If there are six of you I'd get 2 Moras, 2 SAKs and 2 machetes (or a machete and an axe if axes are OK). Take some wet/dry sandpaper to keep everything sharp and you're set.

+1.
I would suggest that a Becker BK9, ESEE 6, or ESEE Junglas should be in the group.

Clothes on your back and a knife.... I think the knife ideas are just fine and I would go with a larger knife. A 12" Ontario machete might also work very well for your purposes. Cheap too. Look at the Condor line of knifes, the Bushlore knife would work just fine as it is an in between size ($20 > $30). They are pretty good knifes for the money. A swiss army knife like the Vic Trekker would be quite useful.

You absolutely need to be able to locate or produce clean water. You can go three days without eating if you want to. I would also think about how you are going to provide fire and a shelter of sorts. Since you aren't taking a tarp or two, you will need somthing to keep you out of the elements. A cave would work also. So the two things that will make the whole deal livable is fire and water for three days. Someone needs to have a first aid kit that is not to be used except for emergencies.

What part of the country will you be doing this? I see that you are in Poland. Should be about the same as the Eastern US in terms of climate and terrain.
