What brands WILL you own?

Spyderco, because they were my first one handed opening knives and without them, there probably wouldn't be half the knife companies out there. Sal Glesser is a honest man and that goes along way. Victorinox ,because half the world can't be wrong. Klein, cause quality is quality. Buck, because that was what was before Spyderco. AG and DH Russell. Ag makes good stuff and DH,cause I am a proud Canadian. Fallkniven Cause I am a proud Swedish Canadian and those things come SHARP!.
I prefer this kind of thread because it promotes good things ,rather than sniping at stuff.

Buck, Case, Camillus (Orig Stock), Schatt & Morgan (Queen), Schrade (Orig.)
Some Gerber...
I have had nothing but good luck with the above:thumbup:

Hell of a question; just thinking about the brands I own which would make one think I would buy more of them and I will plus others. Have been buying from AG Russell for years, some his brand but a lot of others; when I was a kid Boker Tree Brand was the thing, so still have a soft spot for them. Benchmade; their Dejavoo made a believer out of me; KaBar was also big when I was younger so have many of those; Spyderco, Becker, Bark River; Randall, some Gerbers, lots of Kershaws; Buck et al.

I couldn't even begin to list them. I'll own any knife that is made of good steel, has a good edge, solid construction, and good looks. Being made in the USA is a big plus, but not absolutely required.

I like my Bucks the best. I've heard there customer service is great but I have never had to use it.

I also like my Kershaws, they have some interesting designs, I really like the Grant & Gavin Hawk Designed knives.

I also like: Spyderco, Ka-bar, and Sog (Fixed Blades).

RIght now, only Benchmade and Spyderco are bringing designs out that I like. Other than that, customs.

Spyderco- Quality nives with excelent fit and finish and great ergoes

Benchmade- Great fit and finish, sharp blades, their designs just peak my interest, and I love the axis lock

Kershaw- Great knives with premium meterials and good fit and finish at affordable prices

Victorinox- Quality for cheap

Leatherman- Great multitools 'nuff said

and of course many more but these are what i get most often.

Walter Brend, Bob Terzuola, R.J. Martin, Microtech, Zero Tolerance, Strider, Kershaw, Mission, Randall, Craig Camerer,Timberline Custom Shop, Shane Siebert, a few Chris Reeve (only folders), a few Spydercos, Victorinox. Probably plenty more but I can't think of them right now.

I own many knives from many makers, but my favorites are still my Kershaws. Can't get enough. Great designs, great grinds, great people.

For folders I gravitate mostly towards Benchmade, Spyderco or Case and for fixed blades I go with RAT. I buy anything that I like and can afford however, so my collection is all over the map. :)

Why I like them:

Benchmade--almost all USA made with good steel, great fit and finish, the Axis Lock, and downright classy designs.

Spyderco--I love their "function first, looks second" mentality. If I want a folder to wale around on, its going to be a Spyderco 9 times out of 10. I also love the special experimental series they do, like the Mule Team and the Sage. It's a real boon for us knife knuts for sure! Oh, and Sal is a real cool dude, as is Eric.

RAT--don't even get me started. I've never met a group of dudes so willing to bend over backwards for the love of the work. There is not a single company, bar none, that I can stand behind more than I do with RAT. Their designs are always simple, direct, and humble but they blow more expensive knives out of the water and are a dream to use AND carry thanks to their great sheaths! I could go on, but that's for another day. :) :) :)

There is only one brand which, as far as I have experienced, has produced top quality items for fair prices continously: Victorinox. The difference between a cave-man and a civilized man is the cave-man's wooden club and the civilized man's Victorinox Huntsman.

Folders:
Spyderco, Kershaw, Emerson, BladeTech, Buck, Case, Boker, and CRK

Fixed:
RAT, Fallkniven, and Ka-Bar (as well as any of the above listed companies)

Multi-tools:
Victorinox

Dealers:
A.G. Russell, New Graham, Knifecenter, and 1SKS

I've got my system down pat. I know what to buy, and from whom I'll buy it!

This is an easy choice for me, I have been collecting, buying and selling Kershaw knives for nearly twenty five years. I love knives and enjoy looking at and handling all brands, but for me it is Kershaw. The aesthetics of their product has always drawn me, and now I can't keep up with the new designs. Also the people at Kershaw have always been approachable and helpful, Like Thomas for example, here is a guy that is near the top at Kershaw , he has a ton of knowledge about the product and knives in general, he loves his job and is zealous about the product he represents, yet he will talk knives with any of us. These are the kind of people you will find at Kershaw knives. As long as their are people like Thomas at Kershaw to produce a quality product and provide the best customer service ever, that is where my money goes.:thumbup::thumbup:

The ones that I like and that are tough and will take a real beating in the field.

I would buy any folder that I might find interesting but based on my personal experience, I would be more enclined to buy a Benchmade or a Spyderco. I own 11 Benchmade knives and 4 Spydercos, both companies produce quality knives, I like their design and I know I can rely on them.
Obviously, I would not mind buying a CRK folder one day and I probably will.
Since I had a positive experience with CRKT and Boker folders, I might be considering their products too. I use to carry quite often the Boker Subcom and the CRKT M4 is still one of my favourite folders but I rather tend to give knives produced by those two companies as gifts to my friends and colleagues who are not into knives but could use an inexpensive decent quality folder.
