I use Firefox about 90% of the time and Opera about 10%.

I'm amazed at the number of Chrome users. I have a very slow connection and Chrome is an absolute dog on it; it's even slower than IE and that's saying something.

I was a test platform for the beta tests of Chrome. Having three identical computers doing the same things, it was easy to test the three side by side. In my opinion, the worst was IE8. Just too bulky. Firefox got high marks for the adblock, but having a browser open along side a system hog trading program caused several of the Firefox add-ons to crash on a fairly regular basis. Chrome was the fastest and leanest, but lacks an adblock. Get the Google people working on NoScript and AdBlock and it will be hard to beat. I have been running Chrome on all 5 computers since the first release.

For anyone worried about the data mining Google does, SRWare Iron is an exact copy of Chrome, but with the data mining code removed.

I use this version of ad block on Chrome, works well, and is customizable.

Been using Opera for five or six years now. It has a few quirky issues here and there, but I don't plan on switching anytime soon.

After building a few websites, I can't stand IE. Firefox is my current favorite, although I still switch between firefox and IE.

Firefox Portable. Have been using some variant of FF for 5 years or so. Opera and Chrome are faster but I hate the way they manage bookmarks. Chrome's extensions are a hopeless mess with no organization, and it's a privacy nightmare. If I had to switch, I'd switch to Iron.

I've been using mostly Opera since switching over to Ubuntu. It seems to be faster than Firefox for me. I do still use Firefox for a few sites that it works better on.

Wouldn't it be easier and more meaningful if the owner of this forum would release some statistics? :)

@ topic: I like my firefox - especially with Tab Mix Plus - makes it possible to have multiple tab rows which is... quite useful if you're using about 50..80 tabs. :-)

Firefox for the security and ad-blocking. Opera when using my Nokia.

As long as you have a decent computer and internet provider, all the main browsers are more than fast enough. The other features matter more.

I switched to Firefox several years ago. I've grown so accustomed to all the add-ons I use now that it'd be hard to switch unless the browser I switch to offered the same or similar functionality. It has become bloated and slower, which can be frustrating at times, but I'm living with it for now.

I just started running Portable Firefox in a ram drive. Wow. Much more responsive, especially with a lot of tabs loaded. A tad less of a resource hog too. I have CleanMem running as a scheduled task every 5 minutes. Great program. Even with 2 gigs of Ram, Firefox would eventually gobble up so much, the computer would start to slow down. Unbearably so.

Here's how it knocks down Firefox mem use.
firefox.exe, 182.86 MB ==> 4.64 MB

It trims all running processes without impacting performance. It's a little quirky to set up but it keeps pig programs from eating at the trough too long. Best little app I've seen in awhile.

Opera 9.64 is my main browser. I've got Firefox 3.6.12 with the better privacy plug in for clearing out adobe flash cookies and when Opera won't work with Sears or something. Old IE version still around too.

I love Mozilla. I disable any Microsoft updates and everything works fine.

I used Firefox from right before Firefox 2, until the 4.0.7b a little while ago.

Switched to Chrome, never going back to Firefox again. I never used addons with FF, so I'm not missing them.

The appearance is more clean and refined IMO than Firefox. I like screen real estate and Firefox takes up too much of it. I haven't tried Iron but since data mining can be an issue on Chrome I'll end up trying it soon.

Here is what we got on Going Gear for December so far:

IE - 35.26%
Firefox - 33.97%
Safari - 17.07%
Chrome - 10.98%
Opera - 1.67%

And a bunch that are <1%

I'm sold on Chrome now after having used it for several months over my default IE 8 browser. Chrome is simple and clean, everything I need and nothing I don't.

I use Firefox a lot.

I also like SeaMonkey quite a bit. It's very fast, and I like that it has a dedicated button to close the current open tab.

mozilla. its the least abused of them all. IE is so loaded with crap the hackers can get around its not even funny. switched to mozilla.. clean for a long time. by far safer than any other browser
