Thanks brother. I'm glad I finally took the five minutes to figure out how to post pictures. That's a C&C model with a black oxide blade. I sanded the coating with 2000 grit and now it looks more like a really dark patina.

Scott might have missed my question. Is the Ebony 55 available through any dealers yet? Thanks!

I’ve been carrying this one for a couple of weeks. My first ‘modern’ Buck, I have many from the 60s and 70s.
After I sharpened it I proceeded to break down a large pile of cardboard boxes into small strips. Hundreds of slices later it would still draw cut paper. Very impressed with this modern Buck.

I modified the tanto into a ‘spanto’ To accommodate my use and quick, free hand sharpening technique.

I'm still kicking myself for not getting the stag 501 that was floating around not too long ago. IMG_20200211_122421_compress69.jpg

EDIT: Oh! and 4 of a couple unmentionable here brands.

I can never carry just/only one knife.

Nice knife, I do love my fingergrooved 112. Is that one of the newer ones with ebony grips. I couldn’t make out the date code.
