What Buck are you carrying today?

These two today.

Picked a 112 LT for yards sales today. I got to sharpen my Club 301 (BG42) but the last time I 'slightly' messed up one blade with a Work Sharp so I am waiting for good light outside on the back porch. Lately I have wanted to try a front pocket fixed blade carry. Buck has made some really cool small fixed blades that look interesting.

ScottK,
How does the Slim Pro TRX compare to the older version? I have the older version in micarta that gets a lot of pocket time when I'm doing yard work.

Good Question!
I have both, I've carried the brown micarta one a lot over the past couple of years and have recently started carrying the orange 112 TRX in my EDC rotation.

From my perspective, the key differences between the version 1 Slim Pro and the TRX are the larger thumb stud, screw together construction (easier maintenance - if needed) and smaller clip on the TRX. I think the first version 112 Slim Pro has a slightly thicker clip, but the difference is minimal (I haven't measured the clips thickness to compare).

For me the biggest factor in the new 112 TRX is simply the orange G-10 scales, they are very visible and the G-10 has a nice texture plus the new clip does not advertise the knife's presence as much when in your pocket. I have to say that I like the smaller thumb studs on the first version 112 Slim Pro.

Overall, the TRX version is an improvement to the version 1 models, I would like to see a brown burlap micarta version TRX. Note that I acid washed the clip on the version 1 Slim Pro.
