What Buck are you carrying today?

End of the work day, finally. Bulleit rye, Stetson palm, and Buck 110 aluminum frame. I've been carrying the wonderful French Donjon pattern slipjoint since it arrived last week, but today required a locking blade.

You said it, friend and neighbor!! Yesterday was the first day I could wear it since last year (I've been keeping my ears warm with a watch cap all that time) and I don't think I'll be able to wear it again for a while; the wind continues!

Kudos for carrying that big 124 daily. I’ve had mine for several years (favorite Buck fixed blade), and do carry it when I’m messing around at the farm, but I can’t imagine lugging that beast every day. I picked up a dangler for mine, it makes it much easier getting in and out of vehicles.
Nice, it’s certainly a good choice of tool for a farm.

As far as carrying it daily, I’ve never had an issue carrying a good sized fixed-blade. Started carrying my Buck 119 when I was 16 years old, and have had that, or more recently my 124, on me every day since then.

It’s a good bit lighter than other things I also carry. The 119 is only 7.5oz, the 124 is 13oz. My pistol + spare mag is like 4lb, and my medkit is about 15lb. I carry the medkit in a bag at all times when I’m not at home. As you can see, the knife is a relatively lightweight portion of the stuff I lug around

which handle material is that shokwood? kinda looks like it, but kinda doesn't. maybe really polished up ironwood? either way sure like it.

My first attempt at rehandling a fixed blade turned out good enough to take to work.
