What Buck are you carrying today?

I have the 503 (middle knife) in my pocket today:

I have one coming in the mail…picked it up on sale for $89.99….I’m not a slip joint guy but that was too good to pass up.

You're gonna' love it. I wanted one the first time I laid eyes on it and have not been disappointed.

I bought mine for $99 and have always regretted not getting a duplicate. Just the other day, I found the $89 deal you mentioned. So, I'm hoping to score a second one.

Im a little apprehensive about it to be honest. It’s been hit or miss with Buck and their QC with me. The only YouTube video of it shows its centering way off. There is also a video of a dealer showing it off and you can tell the blade heavily favors one side. Hopefully I get a good one.

I was concerned about blade centering as well. It didn't have to be perfect but some of the pictures that I saw looked like the blade might even be rubbing the liner.

I bought mine at a local Sporting Goods store. They had 2 in stock at that time. I chose the display model because the other one had a defect not related to blade centering. The display model that I took home with me is superb. No issues whatsoever and a mighty fine knife. I paid the full MAP price plus tax and I have no regrets.

I hope you get a good one too.

89?? I’ve not come across them at that price

There's a place named after a WW2 naval battle that has extreme yo-yo pricing. Some days, you'll pay full price. Other day's it's a massive discount. I've picked up a couple knives there. Recently, H Happy Hippo had a bad experience where he bought something just before the price dropped. There's a thread about it.

The sun is shining brightly, I'm mending from a cold, I'm anxious to hit the trail with my little buddy, the "Real" DirtDawg. However, I should probably stay in and nurse myself back to health. In that case, I chose to make a trip to the garage to retrieve the SwissBuck Trekker - by Wenger - Circa 1992-1998 - 85mm - 3 Layer that resides in my bike trunk bag nearly all of the time. After all, I really should check it out, tune it up, and in general, just fuss with it since it is my trail knife. I think I'll slip this into my jeans pocket for a few days and get it in the mood for the spring riding season.

Meet the "Real" DirtDawg - Bella

From the dirt trail...

...to the non-existent trail,
Bella and I are "Pedal Power" all the way.

Bella is 13+ and has a heart murmur, so she can't run alongside the bike anymore, but she loves to stand in her chariot and surf the single-track dirt trails.
