Benny, I grew up in a family of electricians (Granddad and Uncle both owned electrical contracting companies and I managed another one just out of college). I haven't seen any knob and tube in a long time, we used to rewire them in the 70's and early 80's. I absolutely love how you mark your circuits - I bet only 1 of 1000 electricians will do that - what a timesaver when doing old work. OHDay 1 of a whole house rewire with knob and tube removal. Got the first 5 circuits pulled to the 3rd floor. Both love and absolutely hate these old houses...![]()

Nothing beats a day you get to dress up as Michael Myers. Had a buddy who refused to wear clothes under his gear...The only thing I miss about working for someone else, is the fun we always made in the field.
Nice picSome nice posts & thanks for the kind comments on the Slim Pro 110 Classic. Had a very blustery weekend, back to the grind today with my 112 Slim Pro in brown micarta. Have a great day!

Did a pretty big job in a place that bakes silica into blast proof plates for the space shuttle. So much silica blowing around there was a guy who just walked around the plant all day with a shop vac. No flash mask, but 40cal, hard hat and a respirator. All while working on a boom up above the ovens... that was hot... spent most of my days in an ethanol field though... outside and on the water all year, which I loved...I have it pretty easy now. Most of our machines are in climate controlled buildings and it’s only 480vac so wearing the arc flash gear is not too bad. I used to work at a paper mill that produced its own power. That got to be extremely hot in the 40 cal suits when working around the boilers and turbines. There were a few times I may have done the same as your friend.![]()

I regret passing on that Smokejumper when it was available. I really wish Buck came out with more 110LT options.110 Smokejumper.
