I have a 112 LT in my left hoodie pocket, a 426 in my right hoodie pocket, and a 110 LT one of the pockets of my shorts.

Today was my first time to use the 622 I received last week. Overall, I like it, but I have to find another sheath. The nylon sheath that came with it allows the knife to rattle around too much. It is annoying to hear it rattle with every step you take. Anyone have suggestions for a good 622/632/822 sheath?

It is the nylon wrap around like in the photo below. It feels like there is a good quarter inch of play back and forth. I am not sure why Buck made the sheath that wide, but the knife rattles with every step.

That is a good idea so thanks for mentioning it. I didn't think about padding the sides. I will see what I can do to pad the inside and reduce the side to side movement.

What are those called?

That is the fruit of the osage orange tree, or hedge, in the local vernacular. Around here, the fruit are called hedge apples, but there is probably a more correct term for them.

I use that sheath for my 632. hate the plastic sheath it came with and that nylon one works well enough.

I’ve had a 632 Mesa new in the Walmart blister pack for a couple years now and never opened it. It has the plastic sheath that nobody seems to like (me included). Just today, this Mesa showed up in the mail from Jameshermsen with a 822 Sentry sheath. He said it came with this sheath in a box, not a blister pack. I really like it - the knife and the sheath!

I would probably try cutting strips of a thick, quality duct tape like the Gorilla Glue brand to line the inside of the sheath insert with, and build up thickness until I was happy with it. Maybe use something like a ruler or yardstick to press the tape into place inside along the length of the insert.

I never realized how similar the 104 Compadre and the Mesa are!

Thank you, jbmonkey ! Yes, the Mesa fits the Compadre sheath perfectly, and vice versa. But it doesn’t fit the LT Wright kydex sheath. I should have thought to include my son’s Compadre in the lineup last night. Maybe I’ll do that sometime soon.

One of the all-time great folding pocket knives... the Buck 500 Duke. This 1995 model has a beautiful polished drop point blade and typical all stainless frame & bolsters. I'd buy ten more if Buck sold them more regularly with various features/steels!

Absolutely! My favorite fixed blade ever - due in part to the sheath from Hickman Saddlery. The guy at SK Blades had great taste. I love all his Buck designs that I’ve seen, but only have this and a Marksman.

Did some clean-up of the garage yesterday, hauled boxes from the big Christmas toys to the recycle bin at the dump - used my Buck Vantage to cut them up. OH
