  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Today I'm carrying another rescue 110 and the 301 I bought back in '92. I bought the 110 pretty cheap thinking I would send it in for a blade replacement. It came very neglected. The former owner was also heavy handed with the grinder. You can tell the blade is a fraction of what it once was. But I decided to massage it a bit, smooth the grinder marks and sharpened it up. I think I'm going to keep just like this. ...now if I could get it to tell me all the stories of the places it's been.

Two small cover pins/"nails" + solid Ebony covers + "square" bolsters + no dots = pre-1970/1971 = 440C blade.

Wise descion not to get a blade transplant. 😇👍
Replacement blade WILL be a current year 420HC with the current tang stamp. ☹️
They ran out of early 110 blades ages ago.
Even if you offer to pay a premium, they won't replace an early 440C with a current 440C (if available) or S30V; CPM154/154CM or other "advanced" blade steel available in the custom shop, or in a dealer SFO or stealth run 110.
