What Buck are you carrying today?

I guess I might be unreasonable about the lack of a drop point offering in the Custom shop.. I'm just a fan of that blade profile and because I chased odd 112's for so long I sought them out. I even asked CJ and the new guy twice at the Blade Show to drop a box of blades off there. But. It seems so easy to me to do it.
They sell them..
So I told myself I would never order one without it. Any steel. If Buck DOES eventually add one in 420 I do hope they offer Mirror polishing for it. Maybe I'll break down after Christmas and order one with Magnacut..

Here's a blue nickle silver 112 with a 420HC droppoint. I will carry this today. It really is a different animal with a droppoint blade.

That’s a good one. I have one of those myself. After seeing yours, I’ll have to give mine some pocket time sometime soon.

I am torn on the 112 Clip verses Drop Point blades. When I carry one, I often wish I was carrying the other.

I’ve got my normal cherry 112 with me today, as usual. I really love the scales and action on my new ironwood custom shop, just a really good looking knife… but I still can’t get past the too short blade to carry it yet. Been a crazy week at work this week, but I’ll reach out to Buck or Buck Knives Inc. Buck Knives Inc. this next week to see if anything can be done about it. Have a great weekend, folks!

That's a shame. Such a great knife otherwise. The ironwood on yours looks good, and I'm really liking the Magnacut.

Just about every weekend in the Fall around here, there's a Heritage Days, or Old Iron Days, or some other event for collectors & crafts people in the area. This is from Old Iron Days a couple weeks ago. The guy with the '29 Ford "Clamped Car" (bottom right) is my neighbor's son-in-law. They've been driving that thing all over the county for these events for years & I've never seen it break down.

1991 Buck 112 with a 2022 blade.

I sent this in for warranty work due to severe blade play in the closed position. The blade would rattle back and forth between the liners but oddly enough, there was very little play in the open position. I asked Buck to salvage the original blade unless replacing the blade was the only way to eliminate the play. Turns out that a worn and enlarged pivot hole was the cause of the play.
