Wearing dress pants today that don't really have a way to use a pocket clip, so this small Buck 283 will have to do for today. Why Buck got rid of all of their 1.875" blade models, I'll never understand...

We've had black snakes living in the wood pile for years. They keep the rodent population down, and from the bulge in the middle, it looks like this one's eaten recently. It's about five feet long.

Of all the 110 & 112 autos I have, this one would never fire well. I tried everything. Clean, flush, oil, scrub. Every oil I own and even moly microlube.
It would never fire open unless I flipped my wrist while opening.

So it sat. Unused.
So years later, I finally grabbed a screwdriver and opened the knife up just slightly. I think it was just pinned together very tightly.

Now it fires as well as all the others.
What's the point of having a knife you won't carry if it doesn't perform.


Tight tolerances don't always make sense
