Recommendation? What Buck is for me?

The 500 is an odd bird to me. The 501 was one of the only knives that I fell in love with as soon as I got it, so I thought the duke was going to be even better. Not so much for me. There's just something about the blade to handle ratio that throws it off. Maybe the sharpener took a tiny bit too much at the factory....but I'm not really sure. That and I think the bolsters could be a little smaller. Of course these are all cosmetic, nit picky things that may not bother anyone else. I love 110's and 112's as well. Lately I've been carrying a C&C 112 (black micarta, s30v drop point) and I love it. I didn't like the drop point at first but it's grown on me. Everyone has offered some great points so far and my input is this....if you like sheaths the 112 can't be beat and if you pocket carry the 500 series is probably the way to go. Or you can do what I do, keep a 112 or 110 on your belt and throw a 501 in your pocket....and a 303 in your other pocket :thumbsup::thumbsup:

I've always thought the same about a 500... and the 532.

So I ended up with a 55 that I received at Christmas might check out the 112 and 501 another time but for now I have a knife that I like and is a solid pocket size and weight.

You might also try the 110LT. Same size as the 110, but drastically lighter. Very sturdy, very inexpensive. I’ve carried one every day since I got it.

gee wiz some one wanting to know what buck is best for them or us?
gosh darn that is like saying what beer is best for some one or wisky (now I tells ya there is nothing better then shed juice after the first 2 oz...) but
dang it all it all depends on what the he-2-l's you wants from dat dang buck,,,,

Buck makes or has made a Buck Knife fer jest about every dang use you can think of when you has been sitting in the outhouse too dang long..
hunting fishing diveing camping skinning whittleing trimming fingernails sky diveing boating combat 'fancy dress up in the pocket go to meeting' to
harvesting mountain oysters or caff fries.
Hell I even used one to skin out control cables on top a nu-clear re-actor...
what might be best fer one use may not be good fer another...
hummm....well I can think of one use that buck may not have made a knife fer and that I think that is cerr-come-siscison or have they ?
guess some one could ask the lead engineer or Joe!
hee hee hee what a great question for Joe ... not a hair on anyones bottom if some one don't ask em!
