what Buck products do you want to see in the future?

I sure wish they would bring back a Damascus blade option for the 110 thru the Custom Shop

Hrm... I would love to see 500 series variants. Keep the standard 500s but add 500s with studs and clips (screwed into the end of the bolster. Variants of a model family seem to me to be a good way for Buck to go.

If by "premium" you mean "doesn't have unacceptable amounts of blade play out of the blister pack, then I think a lot of us would agree.

Again, I would like to see more variants of the classic models. There is a 110 the size of the 500 lengthwise - the 112. I think what you're saying is that you would like to see is a thin line version of the 112. I agree!

Also make versions with lanyard holes, studs and clips and drop point blades.

I would love more variants of the classics available to the general public.

Or a clip-point 500.

I'd like a 55 about the length of a 501.

Nickel bolsters on the custom shop 112.

<nod> I agree.

This appears to be how GEC is doing it with their lockbacks and liner locks. They have a handful of recognized frame patterns. A handful of recognized blade shapes. And a handful of recognized scale materials. Then they essentially shake the bag to create variants of the basic frame patterns.

I would think Buck could do this. Really just an extension of their custom program. We just need slimline 112s, a downsized thin 112 in the same size as the 501. Just add drop point as an option to the 110/112 and clips for the 500s...

I'd like to see a new Vantage model:
3-3/4" long blade.
Full flat grind.
Lanyard hole.
Paperstone, G-10, micarta, or Zytel handle scales.
A frame lock would be great, bit a linerlock with drilled-out liners would be good.

An executive Buck letter opener to leave out on the desk.

They are rare but there were 2 I can think of. There was a Buck / David Yellowhorse letter opener in the 1991 catalog and the Reemer/Stone BCCI custom shop has done some. I think they were licensed products and not actually made by Buck though.

What are the chances that anyone from Buck Inc actually reads this thread?
LOL ddayum good!! I know they all read it at times
Joe more then others but many times CJ and Chuck read this forum ...
and YES what we say does make a difference

I would like to see automatic versions of 110 and 112 and, most particularly, the 830 Marksman.
at the blade show I was asked ".. if we make a auto in 110 would you buy it?""
ans= "yes 3 or 4 of em"
not heard from CJ on that one since then .. but I think don't be surprised if the do one ... and if they do the 110 they might do the 112 also
but again a 500 auto with clip point would be nice .... hint hint CJ!!

I would be happy, happy, happy if they would come out with a Paradigm 110 in S30V.

CJ talked about it at the 25th anniversary, but I have heard very little about it since.

That would be uber cool.

I regretfully missed that seminar at the BCCI 25th. I guess it's time to order those dvd's!

I really agree...options for slimline 112's/Duke 500's, and drop point blades.

I've carried the 112 since the early '70's and absolutely love it! It is what I measure all blades by. I've had a Duke 500 and Prince 503 for a year now, and have many Bucklite Max fixed and folder knives...I really like these.

I've added 141 and 143 Paklites to the inventory over the last 6 months. I enjoy these, but wish they had the drop points like the Bucklite Max small and large. I don't really like the recurve blades on the larger Paklites. These knives are close to good, but the 143 handle is just a tad small; the 141 handle is great, but the blade leaves me wanting.

I hike and camp a lot. I now only do small game and bird hunting. The weights and carry-ability of the Bucklite Max line have me thoroughly captured...love the 482 and 679...I have more than a few of these. Now if we could marry the 141 and 679; the thickness and handle of the 141 and the drop point of the 679, we'd have the perfect lightweight camping knife. Just keep the large-size blade in the 3.75-4.0" length.

Oh yeah, I also like the orange handles...almost all my Bucklites have orange handles! If you can't improve the sheaths or offer real options here, then okay...I can always improvise.

Love my Bucks...I've used these since my first Woodsman in 1967 and my 112 in 1973...no other hunting knife has been in my inventory since then!

Following up from my post above, I'll say that I go back-and-forth for a daypack knife.

Often I carry the 482 Bucklite Max on my belt, but when I don't want something on my belt, I carry the Bucklite Max 673 in my pack or my 680 TOPS/Buck Liason. I often think the Liason in a true drop point would be the best. I've often thought of having a friend modify the Tanto blade to more of a drop point. I have friends who are into ultra-lightweight hiking and the Liason meets this requirement. I find that I'm carrying it more and more, but again, I like the 673 feel in my hands.

I guess that I want full-tang knives that are light and adapatible.
