Going to Alaska next year to do some fishing/camping for a few weeks on the Kenai River and im stuck on what blade to bring.Just for fun out of my list what would you bring? Bark River Aurora,BRK liten bror, BRK FT Kephart, BRK Gameskeeper,BRK Canadian Special. Or if those dont float your boat what would you take? thanks

Remington 870 w/slugs:D

Along with that, the Aurora and a machete, and an axe if you're camping out:thumbup:

I'd go with the Aurora because of the slender point. Seems you could use it cleaning fish.

The Aurora design looks so handy to me I'd be reluctant to give it up for any of the others. I like handy, quick and versatile utility knives. That looks like a great balance.

Aurora and an axe, or a good folding saw..... dont forget the multitool. I use mine alot fishing. Comes in handy.

Of that selection the Aurora would seem to be the most versatile. It's also well used and well respected, having proved itself all over the world.

I'd probably take the RMD, tough as hell and the right size to get most anything done !

I'd say you should take one of your Bark River knives.;)

Out of your list I'd have to take two: the RMD for all the tough chores and the FT Kephart for food/fish prep and more refined tasks.

The RatManDu is as tough as they come; one of my top choices for a single knife set-up. The Barkie Kephart is one of the most comfortable users I've come across. They'd make a great combo.

Second the multitool here. When I am fishing it sees the same amount of use as the knife, possibly more.

I'd maybe add the BRK Bravo-1, stout knife, good for all tasks and tough as hell. I'd also say that the Koster makes a mean knife in either the BushMaster or Bushcraft.

I'd partner any of them up with a Gransfors Small Forrest Axe. Perfect combo for the trip I reckon.

Bark River designs are really starting to appeal to me, but when it comes to northern bushcraft, you can't beat a traditional scandi puuko, like those of Koyote Knives. Paired with a Wyoming Saw and a field/forest axe you'll be good to go.
