What Busse knives are you using to skin critters

So far. it looks like the AD is top of the heap, with the hatchet close behind.

Truly love my AD (thanks Jody), and it gets carried quite a bit compared to the other 2 in my FB rotation (older MS and SHBA). After 12 or so hrs, that SHBA can get hefty. LOL

I'm suprised that one of the Badgers wasn't mentioned, but then again, the AD is just so handy. Sharp too! I just need to get some blood other than my own on it. LOL

My cousin just invited me up to Ga to shoot deer, wild hogs, Canadian Geese and cayotyes (sp?) on his dairy farm in N Ga. He has 500 acres for cows and another 2/300 acres he rents to grow winter feed. Got a mule to help with the cayotes, but the deer, hogs and geese just rip the place apart in the spring and fall. Cayotes and buzzards go after the calves. Keeps a .17 in his truck, but .... 900 or so acres is a fair chunk.

Just told me to bring plenty of ammo. and a good knife.

I'm not so sure skining is where busse shines. I dont' own one. So I can't speak from expericance but they are so thick.. sure they wont break but I bet my Benchmade numravus could cut just as well as that AD

Maybe not but would prolly come close. It has the boring V-edge no fancy convex here...

but it sounds to me like i need an AD nonetheless :D as i have a gerber hatchet. though I am so curious how a steelheart would hold up compaired to my hatchet.. as i "steel" my hatchet when it gets dull. and the edge pops right back. (btw it is a grooved steel) none of my other knives will "pop back" with the "steel".. A bit off topic but this intrest me and I coudl not stop myself from typing once thing thinking gets going.

thankyou,

ok wet, i'll mention the badger

the aba is my choice for hunting, it has the belly i need for skinning and the length has the reach to go a lil deeper while working on elk sized game.

a nice pointy tit makes it good for detailed work also :) :D

Hydraulicman,
I think you'd be truly surprised how well the AD handles and holds an edge. If you haven't handled one you definitely should, you'll see why it is an excellent skinner.

:D:D

If It could surpass my benchmade cub... Now I must have one. and I suppose I should pick up and air bleeder strop aswell :D

I forgot about that one, I have the desert version and it is a great hunting/skinning knife.. either it of the AD is just about perfect..

I’m going to give my OD a run on a varmint this year as well, I’ll post some pictures of it when that happens. .:D:D
