What Busse to buy first?!

Great responses! Sounds like the tally is in and torn between SFNO and CABS (not sure what this stands for yet)...I will probably buy a Rodent Solution just to match my RMD. The idea here though is to try out some INFI steel!!! I love SR101 as it is though, so I know I will fall in love with INFI.

RE: Event in NE Ohio....I'm actually in Northern KY, on the Ohio river. So Cincinnati (basically). That's a bit of a hike up there for lunch! Let me know if you ever come down this way!

My present pair is an AD (heavy duty, but I would have preferred Boney AD) and a NMSFNOLE for chopping. NMSFNO is a great knife: beautiful (essential no? :-) ), not to thick so you can use it for small tasks. The finger choil and the choil "above" (how to say that?) are very usefull for an advanced grip. I would have preferred an FBM but don't find one at this moment: I don't regret the choice.

Your assignment as a newbie is to do your homework:

Read ALL the stickies at the top of the forum,
find the acronymes and initials list,
learn how to use the Search finction,
and report back here with the meaning of SFNO and CABS.

:D;)

btw, if you like SR101, I have one word for you:

Ratweiler.

that is all.

If I had to pick 2- NMSFNO and a CABS.....then if you wanted something bigger Basic 11/ B11

mmmmmmmmmmmm, Ratwieler..................... bettern' donuts!

C.A.B.S. = Choilless Anorexic Boss Street! Wooohooo! I already got SFNO down. Lol, thanks again for the input people.

I think the best knife for outdoors from busse must be BUSSE SAR6 , check this out ----http://www.bussecompanystore.com/knives.htm

Hmmm.... I always suggest the same thing when this question pops up:

Get the current Busse offering - the Boss Jack is a fantastic blade, its at cost, you can get the color/handle/choil you want and its kind of nice to get your first direct from the source!

Have fun :D

Hey I'm on the north east bit of cinci

So I agree with your statement- let us know if you ever come a bit southward!

Boss Jack, for sure. Simplly because it's a good all-around blade and right now is pretty affordable for a Busse blade. Or, if you want to go big, you can get into a Scrapizashi, I think scrapyard still has some for sale.

My thoughts exactly:thumbup:

You sould buy a Boss Jack from http://www.bussecombat.com/home/index.shtml or a RMD from http://www.swampratknifeworks.com/ . Its not that I don't support buying from BF Exchange. You will end up buying more from varied sources thoughout your life. Trust me. It is a powerful addiction.

I think it is good to go through the process of getting one from the source. It is also awesome to open your first package and have it minty and fresh. Mmmmmm....minty INFI. Mmmmmm.......fresh SR101.
