What Busse would be most suited for the jungle?

After noticing that the locals used machetes almost exclusively the mutiple times I was down there I figured they knew what they were doing. I think it was there I found out a big knife can do small jobs but a small knife can't always do the big jobs. BTW, If you're thinking you're going to be hacking your way through the jungle all day you are watching too many movies. You'll wear yourself out for not alot of gain.

I love the smell of INFI in the morning

AK-47 JSC/TH w/ brass tubes and a AD. Should take care of all your big and little needs. :D :D

Thanks for the continued advice. For those who wonder, I don't intend on cutting down a rainforest. However, being hailed as a demi God is somewhat appealing...

That would be cool, but ammo would cost a bunch :D

Not to mention the batteries to make it go.

How about the original? A plain old hand crank Gatling Gun?

Ammo would still cost a bunch, but you wouldn't need 300 lbs of deep cell batteries. LOL

I think I'd take a large/small (7-9"/3-4") blades and get whatever the locals use for chopping the local vegatation.

They live there and know what works.

gattling gun? yeah, whatever.

If I wanted to cut a swath of jungle quickly, I'd just tie my BM to a rope and swing that bitch over my head.

You might want to look for a Battle Guard or a Satin Battle Rat.

They both have full height grinds so they are less blade heavy.

They should be a lot cheaper than a ZTBM and easier to find.

Your choices are expensive and heavy I gather.

Would you consider a Tramontina 14-18 inch bolo or an ontario machete or Cold steel 18 inch bolo? Even a large Leuku from Ragnar might be a good choice. They are cheaper and will get you further with less fatigue because of weight. Any of these will stand up to a lot of abuse and you won't feel the pain in the wallet if you lose it or anything. These are hardworking tools.

If you want something quite beautiful and mid priced between the machetes and the busses, try Valient swords and get yourself a parang or golok. Handmade pieces at very reasonable prices.

Good luck and hope you enjoy your camp.

I would say the Battle Rat as well. I have used mine in this type of environment and it has worked very well.

If you grab an $11 machete you could downgrade the Battle Rat to the BIBB. Or get rid of the large knife category altogether, carrying just machete and 4" utility. I'd be real tempted to still carry the BIBB.

The satin battle rat... better have a real good deep bluing, and even then a good coat of oil to boot. Too much trouble for my taste. Even the standard Battle Rat is going to require a wipe along the edge every other night or so.
