What came first, the Spyderco Native Chief, or the Steel Will Sedge?

I've been trying to find an excuse to get the blue Endura for a couple years now!

I would love to see a lightweight version of the Native Chief.
Spyderco showed a FRN Chief production sample at Blade this year.

As previously mentioned in this thread, I believe Sal designed the Native Chief over 20 years ago now...

The Native Chief is currently my top favourite Spyderco. Such a good knife. To me, the design feels like a fully-realized Native--in its final form, so to speak. To me, the design is more about the absence of a thumb-ramp to accommodate the Spydie hole than the presence of a choil. Makes it look slick and sleek (at least to my eyes) and kind of sets it apart from the rest of the Spyderco line-up. YMMV.

I wouldn't dismiss the standard S30V/G10 model, but if you can find a Sprint at a price you can afford, I'd highly recommend jumping on it.

Sedge: June 2020
Chief: May/June 2019

The Chief is one knife in a family, David (including the Native 5, for instance), all sharing design elements.

I agree with you, you can call the Sedge inspired by the Chief, if not worse.

Roland.

This.

Cutlery shoppe has a pretty sweet exclusive chief if you like orange, I love orange, and CTS-XHP steel (I now see H HP2114B beat me to it). Great knife, very fine tip compared to other folders I have in that size.
