What can't you do with an ESEE-3?

Or maybe it makes you look cooler. What was that about building a fire and sitting close? :)

Pfft small fires are for those sissy hippies that use things like Moras, Opinels, or Swiss Army Knives. The reason their fire are so small is that they can't baton any good wood to make a blaze that can be seen from the moon! How can you be cool like that???

For most actual cutting tasks, I've found the 3 to be the best of the bunch, due to that nice thin blade stock. I've done a bit of batonning, and it held up just fine. I'd love to see a longer blade with that stock thickness, personally, I'm getting tired of the whole sharpened prybar thing

My 3 goes everywhere with me. This little guy had done everything from fine cutting to battoning. It is a great knife that is so useful and never lets me down. It has made many bow drills and many fires for me. I usually pair it up with my 5 when i go on my longer backpacking trips along with my lite machete. I think it is a great combo. I will always have a special place for my 3!

Oh I don't know, My Mora and I do just fine. How cool can you be whilst being one of those tacticool elitist "mines bigger than yours" kind of sissies? My guess is there's a balance somewhere in between. :)

This doesn't help my waiting to get funds up to buy my 3mil. I had to buy a wicked edge for my izulas. Rather have a few sharp knives than several dull ones. Can't wait to pop that bad boy on my vest.

A 3 will do everything a 4 does. However, the one thing it won't do is chop. A large knife can do everything a small knife can do, maybe not as well, but there are things a large knife can do that a small knife CAN"T do.
My go to is a Randall 14. I love my smaller blades, but if i need a tool where I don't know what I'll be doing, the 14 or my custom sp48 are the knives I would take with me.
