what coating for a busse knife

Not a safe queen , I only have one safe queen, a satin Moab I can't seem to bring myself to use (yet)

The blade stripped gives me the feeling it will be more prone to rust and I wanted to put a coat to protect from rust and help avoid light scratches

Dream setup;

Desert sage and sand canvas for a "work" blades.
Satin and Sandstorm or Coyote (brown/black G10?) for ordinary normal wood/camp blades.

A naked Mistress is the best kind.

Send it to Garth for a satin job.

or give it a ghetto satin yourself. Get a Scotchbrite wheel/disc for a drill, clamp the knife handle into a vise and buff the blade. Stripped and cleaned up, it will have very little chance of rusting.

So the next question is for Garth, if I try to do this and screw it up do you think you could fix it? :)

Screw it up? As in what?

Id do it by hand personally, then i wouldnt even worry about getting the blade hot. It takes a while but you learn in the process.

But I would assume he could re-coat it, or polish it up despite your polishing job, as long as you dont take it to a grinder and re-shape the blade... even then im sure he could work some magic and send something awesome back lmao

I think the only way we can give educated advice is if you present to us pics of the current state. ;)

There's always DLC...

Satin FBM Proto that's been DLC'd by Ionbond.

It's not mine...anymore. When I sold it to a fellow from Suriname, he wanted this DLC treatment done to it, so I did him the favor. Although I asked him to come back and tell us how it was working out, I never heard from him again. Luckily, I took those images before I shipped it. :)

no coating for me ,only satin finish or some time competition finish.
very nice proto.
