What color slabs does the Tan RC have?

I don't quite get what your asking. Isn't the slabs the green canvas micarta handles?
 
Sorry about that, I always thought slabs = handles, and then there's the liners, which you are asking about.

Good question. I did a little research and couldn't find any info or pictures of the knife at a different angle. According to Tony, the OD/Orange G10 ones do not have any liners, but I have no idea about the tan/green micarta. My guess is black or no liners at all.
 
I always wondered what the purpose of liners were, would it harm the knife if you removed them?
 
I believe they're their purely for aesthetics/visibility reasons. If you have the RC-3 with the green liners, I think it maybe glued in, but if you manage o take it off, I don't see why you couldn't use the knife. Just screw it back together and your good to go. The tang might stick out a little bit, but that'll all depend on the angle that the handles come into contact with the liners.
