Watching some of the Ray Mears videos on You Tube you can't miss the fact that he dresses according to his surroundings - colors usually of shades of OD or khaki.

What sort of colors do you wear? Do you walk into the outdoors with the idea of standing out against the background in case you have to be looked for? Or, do you try and hide? :D

Listen man. I wear my red - cause I represent my click...

Are we talking about the same thing? ;)

I wear neutral colors 'tan', 'khaki' or 'o.d. green'.

If it wasn't seen in Fresh Prince, I refuse to wear it into the woods.

I mostly try to avoid being mistaken for a deer or bear by a hunter who shoots first and asks questions later... hence I avoid tan or black clothing.

I either wear brightly coloured clothes or green.

Mostly muted colors during the off season but I slap on a bunch of orange or other bright colors when hunting season hits. And I always have something bright in the my pack for making myself visible if things take a bad turn.

Summer, Spring, Winter, Hiking, Working, Camping etc, chances are Im in Jeans(blue), T-shirt, Long sleeve(long john for cold), Most of my shirts are grey, black or brown. Colder temps I put on either brown wool sweater, black down vest, or what I call my deer jacket as the colors and pattern look just like a deer at any sort of distance:D

A lot of different styles, khaki's, OD, black, camo's (atacs, multicam, cadpat) stone washed jeans, flower shorts and everything in between. :D

I like ASAT camo in the fall/winter season -

I like blend in with my background...sometimes I will wear my jeans or work cloths if I'm just going out for a few minutes but if I'm gonna spend a day in the bush, I don't want to draw any attention to myself.

Never know what or who you might see or come across...Might not want to be seen, alot of oddballs out today & pot patches or shine stills or meth labs !

Lots of natural fibers died natural colors. Neutral brown canvas pants, shirts and drover's jacket (Kakadu), lots of white linen in the high desert in the summer, lots of grey, brown, flat green wool sweaters, good ol' SOFFE teeshirts in brown and black, lots of German surplus green tricot shirts, lots of darker khaki TNF sporty straight legs, the occasional pair of faded ripstop BDU's and a pair of foliage color Propper 'lightweight tacticool' pants. Czech surplus wool gloves and some old surplus leather palmed fur trimmed mits. OD Eddie Bauer Essential Down if it gets incredibly cold. For more of the high speed low drag stuff like whitewater kayaking, rock climbing, skiing etc, I have a thing for black and orange... usually I'm more prone to getting in trouble and the two tend to make for a pretty darned visible combo.

I wear black, green, grey, white and camo gear sometimes....I try not to wear red and blue because of too many gang related shootings in my city, and I have been shot at before for wearing the wrong colors at the wrong place.

Yeah, gotta love California...

I wear whatever I want. Sometimes it's green/blue/brown plaid, sometimes it's a red shirt. I tend to wear carhartts or jeans so my legs are either blue brown grey or black. I tend to buy coats in black or brown so in the winter that's what I'm wearing. I don't put much thought into it really. Maybe I should pick up an orange or bright red bandanna just in case.

Chris, do yourself a favor and buy the red/white Rothco shemagh. Best 7 bucks you'll ever spend on survivasexy fashion. Good for everything-trail pillow or towel, macro water filter, neck or face scarf, an under-the-hat neck shade, emergency bandage or signal.

And to think those gangstas could be doing something cool with their time... like bushcrafting. :D

In the woods, I don't usually give much thought to blending in or being conspicuous. I just wear whatever is comfortable, verstile, and suits the weather possibilities. Most of my clothes tend to be neutral, earth-tone colors though; I dislike wearing bright things.

3 seasons of the year I try to wear lighter colored clothing like lighter khaki or whites, they show dirt easily but it also akes it easier to spot ticks which are a big problem with the prevalence of Lymes disease around here.
In winter.. I like Mill surplus wool (usually in OD) because wool is jut awesome and the mil surplus is cheap

Earth tones and different shades of gray. Not so much about blending in, same reason as Foilist's.
This is pretty typical for me:

I never wear bright colors, I usually dress for my surroundings.

I actually enjoy blending in and watching people from a distance. Sometimes just for fun I'll go a little way's off a trail and hide in the brush or lay down and watch people eat lunch, hike by etc... :) I know I'm creepy.
