What companies make THE BEST quality production folders?

Schatt & Morgan make some really nice traditonal blades. Doesn't anyone like Case knives anymore?

I figured that CRK and Strider were really great but I can't have an opinion on them as I don't have the kind of money to try them out yet. :)

Spyderco is my favorite company. They have the best designs and materials. Spyderco's flat ground blades rule IMHO. Benchmade gets the nod on consistantly perfect F&F. I love both companies knives.

Don't forget Moki. They are as close to a custom shop as a fellow can get without paying custom shop prices. In fact, they are even advertised as being handmade (which I don't doubt).
You're right about this one Harry. Moki makes some incredible production knives. Fit and finish are tops.

Beyond Moki, I'd have to vote for Spyderco, Benchmade and then Kershaw (in that order).

Al Mar SERE 2000 is definately a dark horse. It is the nicest folder I've ever owned. I traded away an SnG and the 2000 replaced it as an EDC. It is definately a high quality knife with excellent f+f. It's also a lot beefier than the pictures make it look. Do yourself a favor and at least go handle one. BTW Mini 2000 out this year.

I have owned folders from Spyderco, Cold Steel, Camillus, William Henry, CRKT, Kershaw, Buck, and Microtech. Only two of these folders exhibit what I would consider flawless fit and finish. They are the Microtech LCC and the William Henry Spire.

i'd also vote Benchmade and Spyderco also maybe
Mtech as a mention for value priced:eek: I know I know
i'm going to get flogged but I have 2 of them and am
impressed i'd rather carry them over a new Gerber anyday:thumbup:

My nephew bought an mtech...it didn't look half blad. I don't remember what the steel was. It's good that the erred on the safe side of the liner or frame lock (can't recall which), but we often had to use something to pry the lockbar out from inbetween the tang and handle when it engaged too far. Now, this just didn't happen (as far as I know) if you only opened it slowly, but you know me, I've got to flick everything.

But, like I said, better too much engagement than too little.
