What constitutes a Sharp Knife??

I once circumcised a bee with my Buck. DOes that count as sharp?

Nope, that counts as bulls. . . . But I once really did shoot a butterfly on the wing in half with my Ruger Mark II pistol. And you know what? That didn't count either. It was pure luck.

If they cut nice and smooth with little effort, that is sharp to me. I quit going much beyond that point.

I like to sharpen all mine until they shave. Even better than that, I try to get them to "pop" the hair off pretty easily... that's my level of sharp.

Whittling a piece of hair is cool and all but not really worth my time to make that much of a difference... just my .02

I see somebody's been cheating on his Bucks again. You're a bad boy. (That's OK, so have I - remind me to send you a pic of my new Ruana.)

Well Jeff getting a little strange does make life so much more interesting!!:D
Actually, I'm starting to swing back to firearms. I just picked up a Sig P229 in 40S&W and a older mint Smith 469 in 9mm. I've been considering a Sig for a while and just across the Smith and couldn't resist. I think the Smith is going to be a super conceal/carry piece. Are you familar with 469s? 3.5 inch bbl with a 1911 type design. Nice piece IMO.

Sorry it took so long to respond, Gord, but in case you haven't noticed, BFC is just frickin'-frackin' glacial right now.

Here's my new baby (in a typically lousy photo):

I'm no fan of "plastic" guns, and even less of a fan of the nine-mike-mike (too many years on the force; too many horror stories), but if it makes you happy, who am I to say anything?

Nice blade there Jeff!! Is it hair whittling sharp? I didn't know you were in the Blue brotherhood. Speaking of 9mm's, what do you think of 147gr subsonic HP's in that caliber??

Oh yass, it didn't come from the shop that sharp, but it is now. Five inches of 1095, and it's a sweetheart.

"Blue brotherhood" - well, I kinda figure if it hasn't killed me after 40 years, it probably won't.

Forget about the subsonic ammo. Although that stuff, in an FMJ load, would be great for a car gun. Otherwise, go for the light, fast (125-grain or lighter) JHP loads.

On the 9mm I myself prefer the Federal hydrashocks or hornady critical defense. I just started stocking the critical defense and it is awesome stuff! Check it out if you haven't seen it, it's sort of a hybrid between a hollow point and a ballistic tip. Essentially a polymer filled hollow point. In short its the shizzle forshizzle!!

From Chuck Hawkes
Now it is time to impart some crucial information: NEVER use 147 grain ammo in a 9mm pistol! There was a stupid fad for 147 grain hollowpoints a few years ago, and many were suckered into buying these weak, worthless and malfunction-prone rounds. I don't care what you've heard: never use any 9mm hollowpoint heavier than 125 grains. 147 grain hollowpoints often jam in many popular 9mm guns like the Browning Hi-Power, SIG, Beretta 92, S&W and Glock. Ignore the gun magazine hype and stick to what works. If you want to gamble, go to Reno. Don't gamble with your life. 147 grain ammo sucks.

Your dead on again Jeffery!! It seems I have some ammo to trade.
