What Custom for Christmas?

Okay it has been a while since we did this:

It is Christmas Eve and Ernest is in a good mood and has some time on his hands, he calls you up and says that he will make you the Emerson knife of your choice, production or custom.

What would you ask for and why?

I would ask Ernie for a left handed double ground satin WAVED CQC8 with sculpted G-10 scales. It would compliment my 2001 satin double ground non waved 8 VERY WELL...:D

The reason I chose a lefty 8 is: I'm ambi, but prefer my left hand for knife work. Also, the 8 is AWESOME & I don't think there is a left handed one out there... DEFINATELY not one with the wave. I think it would be very unique & quite an incredible piece to have in one's tactical stable...;)
 
Hmmmmm

The custom I covet . . . CQC8, Satin finish, Chisel ground . . . with a wave if at all possible. Just to be different and since we're speculating, how about with contoured Green Canvas Micarta scales.

A regular production PSARK would be my choice, but I'd most likely give it to a friend of mine because I know he wants one! If I could have 2 PSARKs then I'd definately keep one for myself! ;)
 
If I had my pick I would ask for a custom ES1-M with bolstered handles. I didn't know what I was missing until I tried a Commander and now am sad that I didn't place an order for one :( So now all I can do is hope someone will trade me one or wait till he starts taking orders again, which we all know will not be for a really long time.

Thanks for listing the knife choices, but you are supposed to give a reason!

My choice a CF7 in Ladder Damascus with hand checked micata handles - because it would be different. A full dress Emerson Fixed...

It would have to be a zero ground, waved :D CQC-9, with black finish :cool: .

Why - you have to ask why, Ed? It's a custom Emerson ! And since Ernie has some free time on his hands, that means no wait ! What more reason do we need.

One more person longing for a ES1-M. Black blade (the stuff that MT use). With a wave (offcourse). Black handle. Double ground (or chisel... difficult choice). Sterile (not me, the KNIFE). Sooo nice...

Okay here we go...you said dream knife, eh?

Definately a CQC-8 w/ wave in satin finish & partial serrations, Blk micarta scales with blk bolsters and finally thick liners with 'rope design' file work!

Reason: This is my ultimate EDC for personal defense. If it's going to be gratis , then this knife would be carried for hard use!

[action: wiping sweat from forehead, trying to catch breath]

My dream would be a CQC 9, with matte Ti Bolsters, a Titanium Blade, maybe with the carbide coating, and with handle scales of Black Pearl...oh, and give me full serrations on this baby too..

Reason being that this would be my dream knife, and the serrations would make it able to handle any tasks thrown in its path...:)
 
I'd like a waved Six, partially serrated, but in a bigger envelope with a 5" blade. Then maybe my Ryan M1 could take a long winters nap in the safe. :D

But instead I'm settling for the minty Six from Joel Pirela which will be here this Friday. Can hardly friggin' wait!!
 
How about a Viper with a thumb ramp and a wave, cause I like that sharp almost dagger like blade.

Or maybe the 7 with black zero grind no serrations and Ti bolsters and carbon fiber sculpted scales.:D
 
God! Just ONE!? Well, if Ernie just happened to be my buddy, and he just so happened to have some free time, and just so happened to decide to make a knife for me, it's have to be a waved 8, V ground, zero bevel. Why? DREAM knife!

Or, maybe a waved 6, zero bevel. Why? Cuz there isn't one yet!

Or, maybe a waved 7, zero bevel. Why? Same reason as the 6!

Ohhh... my head's starting to hurt... :D
 
I'd take a waved 6 zero bevel with a boron carbide coating, I'm a sucker for black blades.

why? cause I dont have a custom and want a 6 more than any other.
 
First on my list of knives is a double ground, satin, waved 8 with sculpted micarta handles (because I wasn't as bad this year as I could have been, Santa ;) ).

ES1-M is next on the list after the 8.
