What customs knives are as strong as Cold Steel folders. Who doesnt use Liner locks

If the stregth of your blade lock working in oposite dirrection of the way you will be applying force when using it properly is your point of interest, than maybe CS is the ticket for you. I doubt many people test their locks using the same methods as CS.

nonsens - they do different tests. not only one direction.

Strongest than CS locks (Tri-ad) ?

1. fixed blades
2. balisongs

I have never seen a balisong as strong as a good frame lock, although they are very safe when locked open. Is there any that are known for thier strength? I would like to study one.

The way I see it, the lock is my own hand, I don't really use the latch. As long as I can have a good grip on my balisong, I consider it to be locked safely. :D

IMHO, the latch is not the best lock. It wears pretty easily. My 10 year old BM42's latch doesn't lock as well as when it was new.

I don't how good these Cold Steel knives would be for slicing cheeze in Wayne Manor, but I bet they would be Batman and Robin's first choice for supporting both of them at the same time if they ever had to dangle from the top of a skyscraper in Gotham City!

...You know speaking about custom knives since that seems to be what you are interested in I want to add that when I buy a custom for myself I look for knives with soul. I know that probably sounds corny to some but some makers really put their heart into a folder and I find that I really like, keep and prefer those when I find one with that otherwise indescribable something that just sets it apart. Knives with that kind of character, heart and soul or whatever you wish to describe it are a different league for me and stand out as preferable even above looking at strength and reliable function in the lock...STR

First sensible thing that I have heard all day.

It's better to have one great custom knife than a hundred cheap mass manufactured pieces of crap.

Why'd you have to post those pics again Ankerson? I just spoke to Andrew this week. He called me out of the clear blue to talk about my folder which won't be ready for a few months yet. What a long wait. I try to not think about it, as if it wasn't coming. :(

I added a Ti backspacer, and have the design you have. I asked about the blade length size between your custom AL and TheKnifeDude's and he told me they both have the same size blade.

Are you measuring your blade by 3.5" usable edge? TheKnifeDude listed his at 3.75" - A.D. said that's probably including that small unsharpened portion.

Can't wait!
